There are a lot of racists In the UK, I wonder who they will be voting for?
Without a doubt they will be voting for Reform, as they offer the most radical solutions to getting us out of this immigration nightmare. They have to vote (those that do) for someone and it sure as hell isn't going be Starmer or the Tories.
We have discussed before about far right organisations adopting the St George flag and agree that it doesn't mean that everyone flying that flag is also a far right thug, The same applies with voting Reform. Because a tiny minority (racists) of the country will vote for them, it doesn't therefore follow that all Reform voters must be racist as well. I'm not suggesting you are saying this, just answering your point, but it does seem to be a growing feeling on the left side of society (heavily fueled by the idiot in number 10) that Reform = racism.
To me, this undermines and greatly dilutes genuine racism and the victims of genuine racism. We all know what real racism is, ie something like making monkey chants at a football match when a black player touches the ball, and to lump the regular people who will vote Reform in with that type of behavior is lazy and uninspiring, and simply not true.
I agree with what you say, obviously not all people who vote Reform will be racist, just as Labour and Conservative voters can't be stereotyped into two groups.
I also think people are branded as racist because they have real concerns about the number one topic that's talked about in this country now...uncontrolled immigration, which is a valid and natural concern that everyone should be concerned about, because it affects us all.
However, I do think there are different levels of racism, some more casual than the obvious monkey chanting idiots at football matches, and I do think racism in this country is growing. Racism from all sides, and not just white Brits against others either, racism comes from all sides.
Obviously boat people, the grooming gangs, the queue-jumping for houses and NHS services, that's all happening right now, and it obviously has an effect on the way people feel.

Starmer never mentioned the illegals, because he hasn't a clue how to stop them.
Starmer called Farage racist, now he has said it's not true, which it isnt. Starmer was like a child ranting, nothing political, just beating up Farage. He must go, I bet he goes soon!

No Mags, he hasn't. He has gone out of his way to say Reform voters are NOT racist and he has also made it very clear that he doesn't think Farage is racist. It's all made up.He thinks one policy is "racist and immoral" .
An MP from.Reform Zia Yusef who Red quoted earlier pretended that Starmer called Farage a racist today on Sky News directly after they showed the interview where Starmer said Farage WASN'T racist. This is my problem with Reform Mags, they are not honest. You can vote for them and that's fine, I have never suggested you are racist. I am however allowed my own personal opinion politically.

I think most people in the UK are far from racist. We are a tolerant and welcoming country who have lived for decades alongside legal migrants who integrate quite happily.
I agree that the majority of people are as you say, but imo, racism has grown in the last few years.
Jewish areas have reported that people are being verbally abused just for being Jewish. That's not happened for decades.
Perhaps as white English woman we don't notice, if we were Asian or black....I am sure we would see things differently.
Excellent post Syl. Racism has definitely increased in the country and for Anon posters to suggest racism doesn't exist is just bizarre. I do think some Reform voters are xenophobic and I'm entitled to my view.
Starmer himself has said he doesn't believe anyone who voted Reform is 'racist, he said that they are frustrated at the lack of change. I think that is an accurate perception of some Reform voters yet people are deliberately ignoring this.
A Reform MP Zia Yusef is doing the rounds pretending that Starmer called Farage himself racist and again, no, not true. The right wing press and Reform lie to the public and that's another reason I don't trust Reform, they are dishonest.

I find it hard to fully trust what any politician, from any party says.
I saw Farage give a speech yesterday where he says 'Londoners don't go out wearing watches or jewelry, and if you get your mobile phone out in public someone on a moped will take it'.
Now I don't live in London, maybe others who do can confirm this to be true or not.

I think 116 thousand phone thefts in London per year says it all.
So Starmer thinks that Reform's policy is racist, but that the people who wrote it and those who will vote for it are not? How does that work exactly? Did the policy write itself and will vote for itself?
Of course he cannot say the words that Farage and Reform voters are all racist - for starters he would alienate a huge swathe of the electorate, and there may also be a code of conduct issue that prevents him from making such unfounded accusations on a mass scale. Plus being a lawyer, he should know how to pick his words carefully and not dig himself into an even bigger hole.
He made the 'racist policy' statement then when questioned about it later (no doubt after being advised) if Farage and Reform voters were racist, said they weren't, which doesn't make sense based on what he had already said.
He's let the cat out of the bag now though by associating Reform with racism, and no amount of backtracking or cover up can take that back - a person would have to be extremely naive and easily led to believe a single word that comes out of that lying toerag's insincere gob.

Backtracking about what ?? Why would he need to be 'advised', his stance hasn't wavered every time he has been interviewed.
Starmer 's position has remained the same throughout. He thinks the policy is racist and immoral and it is. By abolishing ILR he is ruining the lives of hard working families who are no different to you and have been given the right to remain in the UK indefinitely. They just happen to be born in another country. Deciding to deport foreigners who have lived here for decades, contributed and paid taxes has nothing to do with tackling the small boats and immigration that people are right to be concerned about. You cannot claim it has.
Starmer always maintained that Reform voters are not racist. I am in.agreement with Syl, I disagree and wish he had been more honest. Some of the Reform voters are racist and xenophobic, of course they are. Some are not, they are just desperate for change as Starmer explained. The Tories ruined the economy to such an extent it will take more than a year before the public feel the benefit in their pocket. But the electorate has had enough of 14 years of austerity and wanted instant chance. Voters are naive and unrealistic, they expect solutions to the small boats when Brexit prevents it. Unless we beg the EU to take us back , we will never have our economy as prosperous as it was pre Brexit again.
And finally Starmer maintained right from the beginning he didn't think Farage was racist. I do believe he was lying here but he had to. Quite why Reform voters are whining like snowflakes when they give Starmer grief daily, I have no idea. Farage is no victim. I know it makes Reform voters frustrated that they can't blame Starmer for something for once (the Daily Fail just lies and pretends he called Reform voters racist any way. Since when did the truth matter to the right wing media??) but Starmer called nobody racist. So backtracking and consultations did not occur.

“ John Kay, "Bills are going up again. You promised you would be the prime minister that brought bills down"
Keir Starmer, "It's a really important promise. We're already bringing them down by £150 for millions of households" John Kay, "That help is for poorer families. When you made the promise during the election you were talking about all bills" Keir Starmer, "Oh no no no I accept that" John Kay, "You talked about bringing family energy bills down by £300 a year. Since you've entreated Downing Street they've gone up by nearly £200" Keir Starmer, "Bringing bills down by £150 is for a number of households, poorer households" John Kay, "What about the £300 for everyone?" Keir Starmer, "But I'm not, umm, umm, umm, rallying against your challenge that we need to bring all of these bills down. Umm. And putting the policies in place is really important to me personally, that's the commitment that I made" "Obviously, a large part of this is driven by what's happening in Ukraine, bills are 75% higher" John Kay, "But that had happened before you made that promise" Keir Starmer, "I appreciate that. So what we need to do is work with others to resolve the situation in Ukraine, to work again on the £150, and to do more to ensure we are able to bring those bills down" John Kay, "To be clear, you are still sticking to that £300 promise?" Keir Starmer, "I want to bring bills down significantly by the next election" John Kay, "By £300?" Keir Starmer, "Well yes £300 is the amount we put out there. I know the commitment I made. And I'm determined we're going to bring those bills down" “
tweet comment: So if bills have gone up by £200, and the promise was to go down by £300, does that mean the updated commitment is to bring bills down by £500?

I suspect it is this video which is causing some firefighting about accusations of racism regarding wanting to curb immigration. It seems you don't have to look too hard for examples of blatant racism.
The bus stop interview at 3.50 is the one going viral but the lady with 3 knives in her bag who hates immigrants even though her Dad was from Mauritius was my personal favourite.

I think the vast majority of people, including the ones who voted Labour in, want him to go Mags.
I know who I would like to see replace him as PM, who do you want? It can't be Farage, not yet anyway.
I don't like any Labour MPs Syl, but I'd give your Andy Burnham a chance.
I haven't called anyone a racist
As for "attacking long term members" I believe it was Red who insulted me first. So I responded.
So I have done neither of the things you have suggested.
I would say nice try but poor show Anon, truly.

Though he has gone a bit quiet over the last few days. Either he won't try or something is afoot....who knows?

I saw Farage give a speech yesterday where he says 'Londoners don't go out wearing watches or jewelry, and if you get your mobile phone out in public someone on a moped will take it'.
Now I don't live in London, maybe others who do can confirm this to be true or not.
I think 116 thousand phone thefts in London per year says it all.
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/mobile-phone-theft-london-met-police-b1244212.html
Yep no one walks around on phones now, I dont. I don't carry my bank card unless.I'm going supermarket.
I agree. Starmer went over the top yesterday, now regrets it. Probably was told by his own party. The man's a fool, must go ffs!
Well, all I can say then, is I'm glad I live in the north.
He is looking more and more like a deer caught in the headlights.
He's like a robot Syl. Just stares, no reaction to anything, weird man.

Transcript of the above…
Smacks of his “1 in 1 out” - 50,000+ in and 3 out.
The bloke blows bubbles out of his arse.
