I suspect it is this video which is causing some firefighting about accusations of racism regarding wanting to curb immigration. It seems you don't have to look too hard for examples of blatant racism.
The bus stop interview at 3.50 is the one going viral but the lady with 3 knives in her bag who hates immigrants even though her Dad was from Mauritius was my personal favourite.
Avon, that is an awful example of perceived racism! He's like a poor man's Sacha Baron Cohen, but instead of baiting people into making fools of themselves for comedy purposes, he's doing it for political gain, and not making a very good job of it either.
The people who attend those rallies are a tiny, miniscule, barely recordable, percentage of the population, and most aren't compos mentis, and are eccentric at best. But seeing them draped in Union Jacks and St George flags banging on about 'foreigners' give great soundbites and visuals for those claiming middle Englanders are all racist.
It's a very, very, misleading representation of how the country feels at this time
Nice try though mate!

I would say it's a very very accurate portrayal of how the country feels at this time....How is throwing things at someone and saying "If you're black, you know where to go" NOT racist under any circumstances. ?? Later on, People say they want to kill black people. Not immigrants, just British people of colour.
You trying to challenge the credibility of the video creator doesn't work. The comments are made by people who claim not to be racist when the camera is on. They work with unsuspecting POC everyday who have no idea how much their colleagues hate them based on the colour of their skin.
I do hope you are being ironic or you're just in denial. All Avon is doing is showing white people are just as capable of racism.as other ethnicities to offer a more accurate perspective of events. It's like you are claiming white people are incapable of being racist, ARE you claiming that?

There are a lot of racists In the UK, I wonder who they will be voting for?
Without a doubt they will be voting for Reform, as they offer the most radical solutions to getting us out of this immigration nightmare. They have to vote (those that do) for someone and it sure as hell isn't going be Starmer or the Tories.
We have discussed before about far right organisations adopting the St George flag and agree that it doesn't mean that everyone flying that flag is also a far right thug, The same applies with voting Reform. Because a tiny minority (racists) of the country will vote for them, it doesn't therefore follow that all Reform voters must be racist as well. I'm not suggesting you are saying this, just answering your point, but it does seem to be a growing feeling on the left side of society (heavily fueled by the idiot in number 10) that Reform = racism.
To me, this undermines and greatly dilutes genuine racism and the victims of genuine racism. We all know what real racism is, ie something like making monkey chants at a football match when a black player touches the ball, and to lump the regular people who will vote Reform in with that type of behavior is lazy and uninspiring, and simply not true.
I agree with what you say, obviously not all people who vote Reform will be racist, just as Labour and Conservative voters can't be stereotyped into two groups.
I also think people are branded as racist because they have real concerns about the number one topic that's talked about in this country now...uncontrolled immigration, which is a valid and natural concern that everyone should be concerned about, because it affects us all.
However, I do think there are different levels of racism, some more casual than the obvious monkey chanting idiots at football matches, and I do think racism in this country is growing. Racism from all sides, and not just white Brits against others either, racism comes from all sides.
Obviously boat people, the grooming gangs, the queue-jumping for houses and NHS services, that's all happening right now, and it obviously has an effect on the way people feel.
True Syl. Some black, white, Asians are racist. Especially to Jewish as Asians hate them.
Starmer never mentioned the illegals, because he hasn't a clue how to stop them.
Starmer called Farage racist, now he has said it's not true, which it isnt. Starmer was like a child ranting, nothing political, just beating up Farage. He must go, I bet he goes soon!
I think the vast majority of people, including the ones who voted Labour in, want him to go Mags.
I know who I would like to see replace him as PM, who do you want? It can't be Farage, not yet anyway.
I don't like any Labour MPs Syl, but I'd give your Andy Burnham a chance.
I don’t know much about him tbh so I’ll read up when I get the chance. I’m quite taken with Rupert Lowe atm, and Middleton (for Mayor of London). if they are half as good as their word then I’d actually start voting again.

Ah, Rupert Lowe, Elon Musk's favourite member of Reform. Lowe also likes far right avtivist Tommy Robinson whilst Farage "didn't consider him suitable for the Reform Party" I agree with Lowe, Tommy would fit right in.
Shame he isn't behaving himself at Reform though-
On 7 March 2025, it was announced that Lowe had been reported to the police by Reform UK after its chairman, the businessman Zia Yusuf, alleged Lowe made verbal threats against him three months and a month previously, in December 2024 and in February 2025 respectively.
[60]] In a January 2020 speech in the European Parliament, he cast doubt on the validity of man-made climate change, calling it a "cult" which "marches on with no definitive evidence to support or deny the factual accuracy of [climate scientists'] assertions
So he doesn't believe in climate change (would get on with Trump at least) and threatens people in his own party a bit.
What else do you like about him Anon?

He listens. He donates his MP salary. He supports UK farmers. He is against UK ID cards. He’s pushing as to the grooming gang investigations. He doesn’t want illegals here, given benefits, he wants housing to go to UK nationals, if immigrants can’t/don’t support themselves he wants them out.. He is for retaining the culture and traditions of this country. He wants foreign aid not handed out will-nilly. He wants to ban the burqua and sharia law/courts in the UK. He wants Halal/Kosher methods of slaughter banned in the UK. He recognises 2 genders only…

I'm not sure what you mean about perceived racism. What we see in that clip are many examples of actual racism of the type we saw back in the 70s and 80s.
Do I think all or even the majority of middle Englanders are racist? No far from it. However, I don't think minimising the scale of the problem to a negligible percentage of the population is true either. It seems clear to me that we have a much bigger problem with people holding racist views than we first imagined, even if those people are in the minority. They have kept their views to themselves previously for fear of social censure but they are now feeling emboldened to not hold back. I presume this will get much worse if Reform get in and they feel justified in saying these things openly.
To be blunt I don't actually care if they hold those views, or even if they want to express them. People should have the right to say what they want even if I may find it distasteful. The problem is words can lead to actions and it is those actions I am concerned about.
To be fair to Farage and Reform they have tried hard to distance themselves from people expressing the racist rhetoric we saw in that video. They have not endorsed people like Tommy Robinson or Katie Hopkins, they have suspended members and councillors found to be holding racist views. They even put Rupert Lowe under investigation. However, it is obvious that people who hold those views gravitate towards Reform and Farage has been in politics long enough to know that it can kill your chances of winning an election. The British character is still essentially one of fair play.
I still think Reform are the most likely party to win the next election but they won't be able to shake the element of their voter base that are racists. That will cause them, and the country, significant problems in their term of office which will probably be no more than one election cycle.

I've just seen the footage, it's doing the rounds on Wattsapp. It's horrendous. Some poor Jewish man, lying in the gutter with blood everywhere, dead. He looks as though he's had his throat cut. The murderer writhing on the floor from a police bullet, he gets up and has what looks like explosives on a utility belt so the police shoot him again and he's still not dead.

It's just some wannabe 'youtuber' trying to make a name for himself. His other clips include 'I pranked a celebrity movie premiere', 'We ruined an awards show' and 'We pranked the Mona Lisa' and loads of other such shite.
He asks a woman at the beginning if 'they' took all of her teeth.
He infiltrated what appeared to be a gathering of lobotomised far right racists, then goaded them into saying racist things - and of course they provided the soundbites he was after. So he now calls his latest video 'I exposed racists in London'
There's nothing groundbreaking or new, as we already know that these far right groups exist and the kind of things they will say, especially when provoked into saying them, as is the case here.
That clip isn't to be taken seriously - he's just a 'prankster' looking for Youtube hits.

More like ugh, these fucking people. Like Avon posted above what do people expect when the right wing media is inciting racial tension or the repellent people that go on those marches abuse people of colour and listen to Tommy Robinson? A significant amount of people in this country seem intent on a race war. The rhetoric from Farage and his ilk contributes to this mentality enormously. There is an "us" and "them" mentality in.society now.
So people who have prejudices will now feel more emboldened to carry out violence against the people that are different to them .This particular individual loathed jews. Next month someone of a different ethnicity or religion will be targeted. This is the society Farage and the right wing establishment have been permitted to create and a significant proportion of society have lapped it up.
This is England in 2025 ,very similar to the film of the same name that depicted racist skinheads in the early 80's. We haven't moved on, we have gone backwards. I am ashamed and saddened by this country.

I care if those morons hold those views because they are entitled to vote. And the city was packed, full of bigots who will vote Reform, get indefinite right to remain abolished and ruin the lives of people who have worked hard and have families here. Britain is their home and has been for decades. Then there will be refugees sent back to the Taliban to be tortured or killed, the ECHR challenged and all for what..an obsession to get rid of brown people.
If Reform get in this country will be seen as it really is and treated with the disdain it deserves. The right wing establishment only cares about getting and staying rich, they don't want money to be spent on the little people who don't matter, the homeless the poor, those who rely on food banks. So they demonize immigrants and encourage hostility between races and unhinged people with prejudices do terrible things like what has occurred today.
You didn't pick the best video in the world to display racism but it showed enough. You can't goad someone into making racist comments if they don't feel that way in the first place. He didn't even say anything to the people in the beginning who three things at him and shouted "If you're black you know what you can do". Attempting to discredit the source with racism as transparent as that doesn't work. After seeing those people I understand why we ended up in Brexit and why we will end up under the leadership of Reform.

What was only a matter of time? A terrorist attack or the race war that some people seem intent on agitating for arriving?
I've just seen the footage, it's doing the rounds on Wattsapp. It's horrendous. Some poor Jewish man, lying in the gutter with blood everywhere, dead. He looks as though he's had his throat cut. The murderer writhing on the floor from a police bullet, he gets up and has what looks like explosives on a utility belt so the police shoot him again and he's still not dead.
Ugh, this fucking planet.
I think I'll pass on anything he has to say on any subject.
Well he did beat Laurence Fox in the 2021 London Mayoral elections so you may have a point
