I confess I hadn't heard of him, but he was obviously a great man who lived to a great age.
I doubt many people, no matter how old they live to, could look back on such an extraordinary life.

Thanks for replying Syl - the fact that he went under the radar when Z-List 'celebrities' are so bloody famous now really annoys me.

True, but I doubt he wanted false praise, and he wouldn't have fallen under the radar from the people who mattered to him.
