Dominic drove over 250 miles away with a sick wife. What would have happened if his car broke down, what about social distancing then? He, Cummings had the cheek to tell the media people , "you are not keeping social distancing." The arrogance is a slap in the face of the NHS and public that have and are following the rules. I could understand it if it was a 10/20 mile drive but over 250 miles and then saying what he is now saying.

There is something in the rules that says you can in exceptional circumstances facilitate childcare for potentially vulnerable children. If it is true that he was worried that him and his wife would become so ill that they wouldn't be able to adequately look after their 5 year old. Then what he did could be judged as fair enough!

My Uncle died earlier this month (My Dad's brother) and I couldn't go to his funeral.
Very few people were able to go to the funeral and those who did go, had to maintain social distancing and sit several pews apart.
That meant they couldn't go near my Aunt and hug her or comfort her when she was very distressed.
I still haven't been able to go to my Aunt's house and offer my condolences in person, none of us can.
So i'm not very pleased that Cummings going on long drives.

DC's wife wrote in the magazine she works for that her husband was having spasms, very unwell and in bed for ten days but was seen dancing around in the garden.
The 260 mile trip takes at least 4hours and 40 minutes and with a 4 yr old in the car, did he not stop the car to go to the loo, etc and his wife and put at risk others?
Wife was ill, she could have self isolated and he could have looked after the kid and supported by online shops and chums
his sister could have come down and picked up the kid
The minsiters were very quick yesterday 5 of them coming out in support of this rule bender but the same ministers are usually in hiding along with the PM when it comes to care homes safety, PPE etc.
About Cummings being out and about - don't worry the ministers have him covered as cummings "was out at the castle after the 14 days incubation period" about the other time they are not sure and think its a lie

Yet the rules say that you cannot visit family while (a) the country is on lockdown and (b) you may have

There's always been caveats within the rules Twiz. Regarding facilitating arrangements to look after the vulnerable. Jenny the DMO mentioned that yesterday as well. His 4 year old Child could have arguably become vulnerable.
IF the story remains solely as it was told as of yesterday afternoon. Then I personally don't have a problem with it. I can understand it and think ok fair enough. May be you could say he just panicked too early. But with your own Child that's obviously understandable.
However, if these other new allegations are found to be true, then I would have a problem with those.

All ready happening. Been happening all along in some cases. I've seen people visit family all throughout the crisis. Someone around here has done just that I've seen their Grand Children visit them all along within the confides of their Garden.
The fact is people should think of themselves and their family. If you want to protect yourself and your family the best you can carry on doing so, carry on social distancing etc Don't think about what others are doing. No one makes me say 'fuck it' I'll go visit my Nan then. I will do that when I think its safe as possible, no one else will influence that decision.

Big mistake defending Cummings - all smoke and mirrors in the press conference today.
Initially I was very impressed with Boris and the government's response to COVID-19 but now almost 37,000 deaths later it's all beginning to unravel and I expect a second wave is far more likely because of Penfold's actions, there have been enough selfish bastards already and now others who have actually observed the rules will think fuck it and they can now do what they like.

When the resignation did not come by 4pm, I said that to my partner. He was not in a life or death situation where he, his wife, 4 yr old had to drive 260 miles plus in a very, very confined space.
