It's gone political and does make many angry when politicians make a big effort to be seen on camera but have not done a lot for carers, porters, etc

I don't want to stop clapping, apart from the fact it's a nice way to show appreciation, it reminds me what day it is.

At least the founder of clap for carers was the right person to speak about it shortly may be now being the time to cease clapping.

Yes I agree anyone else saying that would be criticised heavily.
I have read in some areas the number of people coming out to clap is dwindling, not in my road, the same people have come out from the first week, it's quite a cheery affair. Neighbours shout greetings to one another, and every week someone has let some fabulous fireworks off.
