Okay, I have never seen the film Castaway but heard about it.   Looking at the Wikipedia synopsis of the film there is reference to a volleyball.  So I think we now have all the answers with 3) being Castaway.

Have to say whoever originally came up with these (Vicks?) deserves an applause and a contract to write a quizz book.

Okay, I have never seen the film Castaway but heard about it.   Looking at the Wikipedia synopsis of the film there is reference to a volleyball.

 You don't remember Winston? How very dare you.  The volleyball was a main character.

Hanks drew a face on a volleyball and gave it grass  for hair so he had a human form to talk to. It staved off loneliness but went a bit pear-shaped  as a bond was created between man and ball.  When Hank's character was escaping the island and Winston was lost to the sea Hanks attempted to 'rescue' Winston. When he couldn't, he cried  and wailed his apologies.

To a volleyball.

It should have received a fee.
