Video shows the moment Las Vegas Raiders' star Henry Ruggs sobbed on the ground after crashing his Corvette into a woman's SUV at 127mph, killing her and her dog.
Ruggs, 22, was seen apparently falling in and out of consciousness and holding his girlfriend Rudy Washington in the aftermath of Tuesday night's Sin City smash.
He was allegedly drunk and traveling at high speed when he crashed into Tina Tintor's Toyota RAV4 on Tuesday. The 23-year-old woman and her dog, Maxi, which was in the backseat, burned to death despite bystanders’ efforts to save them, with Tintor allegedly screaming with pain during her final agonizing moments.
Tintor's family, speaking publicly for the first time since the crash, issued a statement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal Wednesday saying: 'Tina’s tragic loss has devastated her family beyond a grief they could ever comprehend. Family was everything to Tina, and she was the light of her parents’ life.'
Ruggs is believed to have purchased the Chevy Corvette C8 Stingray, which he nicknamed Lizzy, about a year ago.
He has previously bragged about the customized car on his social media accounts.
At around 3:40am, the now-former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver slammed his car into Tina Tintor's Toyota Rav4 at 127mph, slowing down from his original speed of 156mph, Las Vegas police have alleged.
Ruggs is accused of being drunk when his Corvette crashed into Tintor's SUV which burst into flames, causing her and her dog to burn alive. Witnesses have said she was heard screaming but couldn't escape. Ruggs and his girlfriend - Rudy Washington - suffered serious injuries.
This is horrific. That poor girl. And all because he's a brat with too much money and not enough sense.
And the worst of it is, all his girlfriend can think of as that girl burns is herself and him.

That is absolutely heartbreaking. The poor girl and her dog burning to death, seemingly unimportant to the couple who caused the crash.

These guys go from poverty to massive wealth at 21 years of age or so.
They have no experience with it, and quite frankly it ruins quite a few of them. In this case it ended and ruined other lives.
He lives near a desert. While those speeds are not legal out there, he could have gone out there to play race car driver. Or he could have gone to an actual race track.
I can't get too judgemental with these guys because it would be hypocritical. I did some incredibly stupid and illegal things in some pretty fast cars. I could have easily killed people myself.
The NFL has something like a life coach for these guys to teach them how to handle wealth, fame and life as a millionaire. It's not always effective. This is far from the first time this has happened.

Perhaps they need to stop making cars that do such stupid speeds. He'd done it before, and nobody stopped him. Not even that stupid arse girlfriend of his. Instead, she filmed him and giggled.

There has always been talk of that.
I imagine in the future you won't even be allowed to drive your own car, so it won't matter.

My sympathy is with the girl and her dog who through someone else's actions suffered the most horrendous deaths. Bystanders could hear the girl screaming but were helpless to help.
But this lad and his girlfriend, they will have to live with the guilt for the rest of their lives, and that won't be easy.

If there's any justice, he'll lose his career, and his wealth and do a long long long spell in prison.

Oh, he's done. I think he does enough time that he never plays again. He might have some money when he gets out, but he will be a convicted felon.
He will be broke and in poverty soon after his release.

Let's hope so - I can't think of many more horrific ways to die than being burned alive.

That poor girl and her dog. I can't get it out of my mind. Been thinking about her all night. Sometimes stories stick with me. This is one of them.

Same here, it's one of those videos I wish I hadn't watched.
God knows how her family can cope, knowing how she died.
