What television shows do you think were great but the writers should have called it a day long before they did?
Here's a few of mine...

A classic but Phil Redmond should have called it a day years earlier, he did the same with Brookside...

I bought the boxset of that last year but threw the towel in and haven't watched the last couple of series.

I'm sure they did, it descended into a farce at the end. All dead? Bloody wasted years on that stupid series, until I couldn't take anymore. No one understood it, not even the writers!

I guessed they were all dead in the first episode, after it went off CH4 onto Sky or whatever I did not give a shit.
Good thread idea Vicky.
Allo Allo, I stopped watching after about series 3, Dexter - stopped watching after series 4 because he got away with everything, when I heard what happened at the end of series 8 I was bloody glad I did. Family Guy is not a patch on what it once was, Homeland went on for far too long, The X Files I stopped after 2 series no matter how hot Gillian was/is.
The Simpsons I stopped watching after it went off BBC2 decades ago - I watched a few of the later epsiodes on CH4 - shite.

Bread was another programme I really liked but replacing Joey and Aveline was just ridiculous!!
Dallas was another one..
Bobby appearing in the shower after Patrick Duffy decided to return.

I loved Dads Army, still do even though it's a bit ham now lol. Doing a new version was wrong.
