Apparently, he grew up with violence. Saw his dad knock his mum around quite a bit....that could have some effect on the way he handles himself. Today he has apologised to Criss Rock, better late than never I suppose. There is a debate on whether Rock should also apologise for cracking the joke in the first place.

Watching the video, Chris Rock is stood there with his hands behind his back showing no signs of being a threat to Smith. Smith didn't give any warning or Rock a chance to defend himself. There was nothing Chivalrous about Smith defending his 'wife' it was cowardly. But even worse for Smith, he had a free shot and Chris just stood there after being slapped. He didn't even rub his face like most people would do.
The Oscars was basically a night of black people. Who Hollywood gave the run of the show to so they would look hip and inclusive. And what happened ? it turned into Brawl. I guess Hollywood is lucky that no guns were drawn and no drive bys happened
