I have some embroidered postcards my dad sent to my mum in WW2..he was posted in various places and used to pick up unusual cards.

I've got a friend who has this old painting depicting a mansion in moonlight. It's quite dark and gothic and one day the conversation went something like this...
Me: That's an interesting picture.
Her: My friend painted it.
Me: Look at all those dark windows
Me: Imagine if one day you woke up and there was a figure in silhouette standing in one of those windows.
Her: Stop it!
Me: and the day after that the figure has moved to the door...
Her: Will you stop!
Me: And then for the next week, the front door yawns a little wider and first a hand and then a face....
Her: STOP!

You are weird.
Do you ever look at really old sepia photos, and expect to see your own face, or the faces of people you know in them?

It's very pretty Syl. I would love embroidered postcards. I love any type of embroidery. My dad's youngest sister taught me to cross stitch. Her son taught her.

Only cost a £1 Digs. I felt quite sad because the lady in the shop said a woman had died and none of her family wanted any of her stuff.

That's sad...at least you appreciate something she owned Vita.

I do Syl. My Gran used to collect Royal Doulton ladies and used to get upset and make my mum promise she wouldn't throw them away or get rid of them. My mum has them all over the place. Lovely detail in them.

I only like bargains on things I need. I don't really shop. I decide I need something and go buy it. Then get the hell out of the store as soon as possible.
Once in a blue moon I'll go to an estate sale and wander about. That's about the extent of my bargain hunting although I rarely buy anything..

You would get on well with my dad.
Me and my brother have longed joked he's in and out of shops so fast, he leaves the car engine running.

I had to stop shopping with my ex early into the relationship. I whined constantly about wandering aimlessly in search of nothing in particular.
My daughters have taken after me. They know what they want, get it, and get the hell out. No doubt they are still traumatized from being drug around stores as children.
Most of us do but would you shop in a 20 pence shop?
Someone got a bike for twenty pence, a CD Player and curtains.
We're Britain's best bargain hunters - we've snapped up a CD player, full set of curtains and a BIKE for just 20p each (thesun.co.uk)
I suppose you would have to go in everyday to try and get a bargain.
I also like the idea of putting out at the front of your house items you no longer need.
One mans junk is another mans treasure.
