Fat, ugly, weird, crazy, mad....all to be taken out or changed....why?
What will be next?
"Some of Roald Dahl's beloved children's books will be getting updates to be more inclusive, progressive and more acceptable to today's readers, according to The Roald Dahl Story Company, which owns the rights to the books.
The celebrated children's book author was the mastermind behind bestsellers such as "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "James and the Giant Peach," "Matilda" and "The BFG.
Phrases like "Mothers and fathers" in Dahl's "Matilda," first published in 1988, could be replaced with "parents" while some descriptions of "fat" characters could be edited or removed entirely. Description of women's jobs are also subject to change."

The publisher Puffin has seen sense and is leaving it in the original form.
Sick of wokes!

Cinderella's step sisters, (is step sisters still acceptable) could be called Cinderella and the two persons with alarming visages.
The Boy in the Dress, or....Them in the none binary attire.
Little women...Restricted height persons.
I think I am getting the hang of it now..

Sometimes I wonder if these ideas are cooked up to increase sales by getting the name of the book in the press.
You don't really have to mean you want to make changes, but the mention of it stirs the pot and creates interest.
I'd be interested to know if sales for these books pick up, even with no changes made.

My opinion is a minority of people are trying to rewrite history, and are being allowed to do it...why? I don't know.
Seeing someone called fat or ugly in a childrens fantasy book isn't going to damage any child...it's all part and parcel of growing up.

It's a case of getting on the woke bandwagon because it's currently the in thing to do. Bunch of sheep.

Lizzo's latest song has the line..'.Is it just because I am black and heavy'?
Nope love, you may be black, but fat describes you better.
Nice song though.

She's fat and papers call her curvy! If she's curvy, I'm like Marilyn Monroe! 😂

She'll be dead and buried by the time she's 50. She's got to be 24 stone. It's so unhealthy, particularly when you're this fat for most of your youth.
So more than half black women are obese. I wonder why.
I find it odd that younger white women in the UK are getting so much fatter than the males.
I don't know the statistics, but it's quite usual to see a female twice the size of the young man she is with.
Most of us oldies were slim in youth. I was never bigger than 8 stone. That only changed when I hit the menopause. I have several West Indian mates, and all but one are big. I'm not sure why, but I do know that West Indian food is carb heavy.

It's bad diet. It's really that simple.
And it's really impacting the women more. I was never a fan of Michelle Obama, but I appreciate her sending and living a different message in terms of health, compared to Lizzo.
It's almost a crime what is being touted as healthy now.

Bad diet and lack of exercise....though you would think Lizzo would lose a few pounds with all the twerking she does.

"You can't out train a bad diet".
Especially as you get older. She's 34 now. She didn't always look like that..
34 is still young. Unless someone has a medical condition that affects their weight, I really don't know how people can get so fat....no matter what age they are.
