So the solution to saving millions a day in hotel bills, is to kill off the asylum seekers 500 at a time.
Whether the floating hotel is a good idea or not, it is one way of saving the country money ....but why were tests not done before the men were admitted on board?

Wonder how long the barge had been sitting vacant?
Does seem odd that if testing the water is normal practice, that it would be tested before folks were put on the barge.
But governments tend to get very inefficient as they take on more roles.
Maybe the water testers were on holiday or on strike? 🤷♂️

Apparently, tests were carried out, but they didn't wait for the results which showed the deadly bacteria was in the water supply.

I see this all of the time.
One agency doesn’t know what the other is doing.
There's never a sense of urgency either.
Government gets judged on intentions, not results. Those of us outside of government pay for our poor results. Then we pay for government's poor results too. There's no accountability except for a few at the ballot box.
The typical government worker can screw up for 35 years and collect a nice pension..
And the folks who really care realize that they are just wasting their time. No one above them does..

When things like this happen, it just shows what idiots are running the countries.
Most of the time it goes unpublicised, this time it didn't.
I doubt anyone will be brought to book....or if they are, they will be paid off with a massive pension.
