This.must be upsetting for them all. To know their parents arn't theres. I couldn't begin to know what to do.

Joan is one of the mothers who was given the wrong baby all those years ago.
She is now in her 80's and has just found out the only daughter she has raised for all those years, is not her biological child.
The woman no longer calls Joan her mother.
On a brighter note, Joan and her real biological daughter have met and the daughter does call Joan mum.

I had no choice. My son struggled a bit, he was whisked away upstairs to the ICU.
When my husband came to visit that night, he said he had seen our son in his incubator, I still hadn't been allowed to see him.
I told the nurse I wanted my baby, she said he was still in ICU.
My OH had been shown the wrong baby.

My mum had to come home without me when I was born because I hadn't a few health problems.
Thankfully the other two babies in the special health care unit were boys so there wasn't much chance of her being given the wrong one.

Lol...that's more obvious than being given a fair haired baby when all the family are dark...as in the OP story.

Having a baby, with all the drama and pain that's quickly forgotten about, should be a time to look back and remember the happiness of it all.
This mum has had all that taken away now.
Vita, it must have been sad for your mum leaving hospital empty-handed, thankfully all worked out well in the end.
One of my over-riding memories of having my son...it was Christmas time, feeding time in the ward. The nurses suddenly rushed in, took our babies, said they would mind them whilst us mums should go along the corridor as a treat was waiting.
So off we went, trying to fasten dressing gowns around leaky boobs, wondering what this great surprise would be.
It was bell ringers.... not very good ones either, and me and another girl got the giggles, we ended up, doubled up with laughter in a linen store cupboard, trying hard to stop laughing, One..because we would soon be missed, and Two, because laughing too hard hurts the stitches in a very vulnerable place.
