A woman in France was scammed out of €830,000 after being led to believe she was in a relationship with Brad Pitt. These are the photos she received—allegedly from Pitt—that convinced her.
This is beyond catfishing. This is salmon trawling in the Mariana Trench of gullibility. The scammer didn’t even try. They threw up a Pinterest board of “Sick Brad Pitt Aesthetic” and made 830K like they unlocked a cheat code.

Remember a couple of years ago a head teacher, obviously a bright woman, was conned out of her life savings by a young waiter from Turkey.
And the 80 odd year old woman who married an Egyptian toyboy (even went on TV talking about how mad he was about her, and how much KY jelly they had used ) surprisingly that didn't last either.

Would not 'Con artist victim' be more tactful? I did laugh when I saw the thread title though! I don't know how people who swindle money from the elderly sleep at night. They pick on isolated older ppl who haven't a clue about internet banking, say money has gone missing from their account and the victims are beyond worried so they tell the nice man what they want to know. And the job's a gud un'. I feel sorry for this lady even if she was a bit daft. That's an awful lot of money to lose.

Yes people are gullible. Including those that believe one can trust the BBC for truthful reporting (rather than out and out woke activism). Across internet chat sites people are talking about the same things - "global news" - that they have imbibed from the mainstream media, alt-media et cetera. We are truly all the "screen generation" and not just gen-Z. I look for originality of thought, evidence that people are thinking for themselves but it is a rarity. Most of the time it is regurgitation. The same person may be an original thinker on some things and a boring regurgitor on other things.

I always said I would age gracefully, and I have. I even stopped colouring my hair 3 years ago....white or grey hair is definitely very ageing, but so what?
I look at women who have had procedures, even famous women who can afford the top medics,, and sooner or later (because from what I see, once they start, they don't stop) they begin to look plastic , shiny, and slightly odd.
I look at women who have aged naturally, Audrey Hepburn is a great example, and she looked her age, and still very beautiful.

Yes, but it can also depend on the genes you’re born with, Syl. I guess you must have been blessed with great genes, because you really are aging fantastically well.
My Mamma was a stunner right into her late-70s, but I look much more like my Dad….
OK, I’ll ’fess up. I’ve had 3 procedures done in the last 14 years - a little work around the eyes, jawline, and a boob lift. Other than mascara and lippy when I go out, I hate wearing makeup - especially in a hot climate. And I practically live in tee shirts in the summer out here.
For me it’s really not about trying to looking younger. I see it more as just a bit of tweaking of what the good lord gave me.
‘Subtle and infrequent - and preferably before skin elasticity heads all the way south’ are my golden rules to avoid the dreaded ‘wind tunnel’ look

Not really. I have some slightly darker streaks in it so it does look nicer than the awful brassy look of dyed hair. I'd prefer to still be dark but hey ho, you can't stop the aging process. I much prefer people to look natural, which is why a bloke with a bald head or grey hair doesn't bother me. There's something creepy about people who start to look stretched and fake in old age. They look like mannequins out of a horror film. Katie Price is a case in point. She looks ghastly.
