Anyway...I have started my grandsons hamper. When he was little he used to love picking items for the hamper we made for his dad...now we do it for him. It's become a family tradition, in return he does one for us.
Shop bought hampers are ridiculously expensive, and not always filled with food you would necessarily want. This way we can pick things we know will be enjoyed.

A hamper filled with luxury Christmas items, or little treats that you know someone loves but never buys themselves, is a lovely thoughtful gift.
This is not for Christmas, but for birthdays. My OH loves walnut whips, every year on his birthday, apart from his main pressies, people buy him boxes of walnut whips. This year he got loads, he will still be wading through them come Christmas.

I love them too, but like everything else not much cream and they've shrunk!
Every Harvest Festival, when in Primary School and Sec School, I did a hamper for nan n grandad. I said why am I taking in food, when I can give it to nan and Grandad. So I did. my nan thought my idea was a lovely thought. My mum n dad did too.

It was a lovely idea Mags, if anyone is stuck for an idea for a lovely thoughtful gift, I think a hamper is a great choice. They don't have to be expensive either, jams, honey, biscuits and nuts etc, they are all good. My grandson puts a bag of Peppa Pig toffees in mine.

😌 I miss seeing the UK Christmas ads all the time. But I can’t make out enough of Dawn French’s dress to comment.
M&S have recently teamed up with the 16Arlington brand. SO tempted by this skirt and 2 tops! 👇🏻

One thing I have noticed about M&S, their maxi dresses are so long I swear they are made for women over 6ft. I am tall, and they swamp me.
Considering some of the short, dumpy women they have used over the years to advertise their lines....seems a bit daft.
I still love their food, underwear and sometimes tops, but some things are overpriced, and their cashmere is crap....it bobbles more than any other brands.

@ Syl…there are a couple of M&S branches dotted around, and one in Gibraltar. But they’re all franchises, and rarely have a comprehensive range on offer.
I sometimes use M&S online, which is available here. But I try to be very sure of what I’m ordering because, as you say, the sizing can be a bit hit and miss. And yes, the quality of their cashmere is the pits!
