He used his car as a weapon, screaming at people to move, as he ploughed into crowds who were celebrating at a football parade.
He has a record of violence, both in the military and as a civilian. ...so much for him being a nice happy family man, as he was portrayed at the time.
I thought he’d get less going by the pathetic sentences generally passed down.
let him vent that anger in prison and see how he gets on… no kids, women and the elderly there to brutalise.

I agree. He will be out in 10 yrs! Should have got 50 yrs! What he did was horrific! Swearing at them all, driving straight at them, reversing over them, he is a monster!

I had a discussion about this with someone yesterday. She thought the sentence was heavy.
I think in this country the judicial system has gotten so pathetically lax, people are amazed when really serious crimes get more than a few years.

When the videos first came out I thought the driver must have been rat arsed or high on drugs as no one would deliberately drive at people like that (apart from terrorists, obviously) so tbh I was genuinely shocked to learn that he wasn’t and he did.
It still baffles me, a bad temper is one thing but…

Thing is, as you said, he used the car as a weapon. He deliberately and systematically ran them down!
Apparently he bit part of someone's ear off in a fight. Meant to be a nasty character! 😵

Yep, he has six convictions for violence and served time in the past. He was also dismissed from the military.
But...I read over the last 30 odd years he had turned his life around and made a success of his life.
Sadly, it seems the red mist descended again ... what other explanation could there be for someone to act in such an evil way?

I saw the judge, he was saying he lost his temper. He must have a very quick, nasty, temper to do what he did.
I hope prisoners lose their temper with him!

He was driving like a madman before he even got to the crowds on Water Street.
i’m surprised no one was killed that day.

/\ It's a miracle no one was killed.
People were flung into the air, dragged along and even when he was forced to stop 4 people including a child were trapped underneath his car.

What the hell is wrong with people? It's like Sodom and Gomorrah these days.

It probably seems worse because the internet splashes every case of murder, cruelty, horrendous acts of violence ,into everyone's home on a daily basis.
In reality, in the UK, murders, for eg, are less now than they were 20 years ago.
