I just pinched this post of Kizzie on here thought you might be interested ......

Now this was a very interesting read.

#TimLongson I have finished my in depth fact checking & can now say exactly what happened in the general election. To start, lets put some perspective on the outcomes of the General Election & see what caused the results.

The right wing media, Tories, & Blairite Labour MPs (right-of-centre-Labour) are trying to tell us that we should believe it was because of "Jeremy Corbyn & his too-far-left policies".

The Labour leadership & Labour members says it was because of "Brexit & the right wing billionaire owned media shielding the Tories from public scrutiny, hiding Tory corruption, hiding any real evidence of any real change or costings in the Tory manifesto, the media not holding Johnson to account for dodging all probing interviews which would have exposed how the Tories has no real plan other than more of the same we have had for the last 10 years, and at the same time the media spreading the Tories fake news against Labour, & the media attacking Jeremy Corbyn with the biggest smear campaign in political history, deliberately twisting his words out of context to put him in the worst possible light, & clipping his speaches to suggest entirely different meanings".

But which is true? Lets do some fact checking of the verifiable numbers (feel free to confirm them for yourself).
**********
QUESTION 1: True or false - Jeremy Corbyn & his left-of-centre Labour party policies put people off voting Labour?

General Election: Labour Votes last 20 years:
2019 Jeremy Corbyn: 10,295,607
2017 Jeremy Corbyn: 12,874,985
2015 Ed Miliband: 9,347,273
2010 Gordon Brown: 8,609,527
2005 Tony Blair: 9,552,436
2001 Tony Blair: 9,056,824

So on Jeremy Corbyn's media described "huge defeat", his left-of-centre policies still gained nearly 1 MILLION more votes than the more "moderate" (translating to right-wing-Blairite) policies of the "New Labour" which was in line with right-of-centre Tony Blairs policies. So were Jeremy Corbyn's Labour policies "too far left" for the public?

ANSWER TO Q1: FALSE! Jeremy Corbyn & his left-of-centre Labour policies still won more votes than ANY other Labour since the turn of the millennium! Neither the policies or Jeremy Corbyn himself was to blame.
**********

QUESTION 2: True or false - Boris Johnson's & his Tory party policies were so good that they caused a HUGE number of Labour voters to switch to voting Tory?

Did the Tories do they do "amazingly well" like the media say? They lost their majority & were considered to have done appallingly badly in 2017, & yet are supposed to have done incredibly well in 2019? Look at the change in the number of votes:
2019 Boris Johnson: 13,905,502
2017 Theresa May: 13,636,684
The difference in the number of votes between 2017 & 2019 just 269K!
Can 269K more voters be considered a "huge success"? Or is it more of a true indication of the failures of the current "first past the post" election system, which the media did EVERYTHING it could to try & make look like a "massive move in votes to support the Tories". Well, for perspective: about 66 million people live in the UK, 269K people is only 0.4%! A "huge swing to the Tories"? False! An "almost insignificant temporary swing" would be a better description!

ANSWER TO Q2: FALSE! The Tories only gained 269k more votes than in their last "terrible majority losing" election, & the result was caused by a gap of millions.
**********

QUESTION 3: True or False - the media played a decisive role, their right wing bias costing Labour millions of votes by deliberately & biasedly lying to the public for this specific goal?

So why did Labour lose? Brexit, & the media going on & on & on about it caused literally MILLIONS of people in the UK to get so board of it that they switched off, they decided to not even bother to vote OR they believed what the media was telling them was "the only way" to "tactically vote to get the Tories out"; a tactic which failed, so the public were let down by the media again!

32.2 million people voted in 2017, and 31.83 million voted in 2019 which is a difference of about 370K - over 100K more than the Tory gain this time. So the main reason Labour lost so many seats? Too many people believed the billionaire owned mainstream media's deliberate lie: their announcement that "only tactical voting for 'other parties' (not Labour) could keep the Tories from winning again".

So the Tories got in, NOT because they had "good policies" or that they made big gains because people believed them (because the above clearly PROVES they didn't) - the Tories got in because the media, (85% of which is privately owned by just a handful of multi-billionaires, like Rupert Murdoch, who would do or say ANYTHING to stop an honest government of the people from making the rich fat cats pay their fair share of taxes & close the tax loopholes) the mainstream media deliberately sapped the drive of the people with misinformation, repeating the same lies about Labour over & over again, despite proof surfacing that they were lies, & the media promising that the public COULD only STOP the Tories winning by "voting for other parties", people so desperate to end the reign of a Tory government which for nearly a decade had put them through hell, that they believed what the media said would get the Tories out, & did not question the demonstrable lies that Labours policies would raise everyone's taxes & make them worse off, even though the proof was printed in black & white for anyone to fact check that only the richest 5% would pay more income tax, & the proposed income tax raise was lower than it had been under Thatcher, & the increase in corporation tax would still be lower than it was in 2010 - every penny accounted for, no "magic money tree" needed, just honest & fair government.

ANSWER TO Q3: TRUE! The media made all the difference. The public did NOT swing to support the Tories, who only saw an increase in 269k votes, the public were brain washed by the media & comments from right-of-centre Labour Tony Blair, to believe that they needed to vote for OTHER parties (not Labour), voting "tactically" to get the Tories out! The MILLIONS of swing votes was NOT TOWARDS the Tories, it was an attempt to GET THE TORIES OUT, but one which was misguided by the media!

It's very simple: 31.83 million voted, only 13.9 for the Tories, leaving 17.93 MILLION that voted AGAINST the Tories, which if it handn't been split from Labour by the mainstream media's deliberately dividing advice, would have given us a MASSIVE majority Labour government, not the Tories!

**********

What do we learn as our takeaway message from all this? That nearly all of the British media serve only to divide people who would otherwise unite behind a Labour government which would have made the average citizen over £6,000 a year better off & would have protected public services like the NHS from being turned into yet more money making purely-for-profit private businesses.
The job of the media is supposed to be to use INDEPENDENT journalists to hold EVERYONE equally to account, & present the provable facts to the public so we can make up our own minds; this they do not do, so we must CHANGE the way we get out information, STOP buying their papers, stop watching their TV news, fact check for ourselves from independent sources online (which is FREE), & thus hurt the corrupt right wing multi-billionaires where it hurts - in their wallets with a loss of sales & viewers!

Don't despair at the outcome, UNITE against the corrupt right wing & their media, & by uniting TOGETHER WE CAN BRING ABOUT CHANGE, to stop this privatisation of our planet, where only money for the rich matters, not climate change or the well being of the general public!

No member of this forum has to answer to some coward too scared to post in their own username...why are you bothering to even post FFS. bored

Anyway Stooo and I may share a mutual dislike for each other but he is certainly correct politically. That Twitter post is spot on.

London is prospering and will now continue to flouish financially now the rest of the UK has decided to vote Tory.

The rest of the UK which is now home to , officially, some of the poorest cities in the Western World. But London is the richest..hmm, how does that work out??

The rest of the world witnessing the UK make an utter tit out of itself must wonder why we are voting for own economic demise. Stooo eluded to Turkey's voting for Christmas and never before has a phrase been so sadly apt.

Why are you using this forum to post shit to a member of dogs?

Why not fuck off back there and say what you want to mcaz.

Stooo has a nice extra large size Dildo Avi waiting for you. Mind you I think your avi should be one of those flesh torch ones.

It's got fuck all to do with, you keep saying you won't respond to guests but you do nothing but reply and try make it all about you.

Assume I'm the guest you don't want to respond to and then stop fucking responding to guest posts.

In fairness to Rollup I won't butt in again but trolls like you get on my nerves, you only posted because you want to annoy Jack. I mean, well done you, what a contribution  (slow clap ) wank

I note you have nothing to say about the post itself , the demise of our country and the economic hardships it will now face. You only care about petty forum agenda's. .as irrelevant and petty as you are.
