I do as I voted to leave the EU, but just over the last few days had negative thoughts about it. I am glad that we retained our currency. We were hoping to go to Spain in Feb, March and now wondering about the extra costs re travel visa, travel insurance, etc.
As far back as I can recall, me and my family, parents, siblings/etc all voted Labour until the recent GE as we all just an end to the uncertainty. Now I'm confused and worried about my job and that of my family as they've all had downturns in their sectors.
I voted to stay and nothing I have seen since has changed my mind - quite the contrary - look at that dumb, willfully evil prick in the Whitehouse, without the might of Europe we are now his little toys to do anything the moronic scumbag pleases.
Northern Europe is still the flickering, but dying light in a world of superstitious darkness.
So thanks folks.

Another shut-in bemoaning other people's choices. You need to go back to DS it is full of shut-ins who don't work and never go anywhere either in the UK or abroad anyway. If you went out into the big wide world you would actually see nothing changed at all. If you went abroad to the Europe you love so much you would see crumbling economies and people who want out of the EU as its crippling them. There are riots everywhere over the EU all over Europe that shut-ins don't see as they only watch and read things that agree with them.
We are not leaving Europe we are leaving a corrupt governing body, we are still part of Europe, always were and always will be. Do you really believe Europe will stop buying things from us or selling things to us? Do you really believe they will want to make it harder for us to visit them when they depend on UK money? If you do you are not very bright just another scared shut-in telling those who voted for their own reasons "Thanks for that" like they did something personally wrong to you. Those on DS are the same, fucking idiots.
Yes I know I'm just a cowardly anon and you won't believe a word, others here will know I am right, as they too travel outside their own country and watch a wider range of media. Strangely those who agree with you are not cowardly anons.

It's a deeply divisive issue in some families. Boris's two brothers seemed uncomfortable with leaving Europe and his sister actually campaigned against it. Europe is where they all grew up after all, the Johnson siblings have stronger ties with Europe than UK. But the deed is done and the die is cast, no turning back, time to forge ahead and just make the best of things.

The thing about Brexit is that it's so divisive and people seem so invested in eaither leave or remain that it's hard to find a neutral POV which weighs up the pros and cons.

I hear you, Dylan Thomas. :eds:

Voted remain but accept that's democracy and if this is the road we're going down that's that.
Pretty much the way I view it Dr.
I don't think there should have been a second referendum as many suggested , that would be deeply unfair to those who voted leave. The result was leave and although I accepted that, I certainly didn't applaud the result.
I think there will be tough times ahead.
The motivation of some voters voting Leave was because they believed Farage's blatant lie about giving millions to the NHS- this is unforgiveable.
Yes one can say such individuals were beyond naive and foolish to believe a bigoted charlatan but the fault lies with him for making absurd promises he had neither the intention or resource to keep.
The world is changing. People are becoming less empathetic and more self serving as individuals and that renders them less able to see the consequences of their demands for division. I fear people's selfishness has made them more malleable, consequently effortlessly controlled by the powers that be and now resemble a mob of brainless sheep voting for their own demise.
I hope I'm wrong. I'm hope that the billions of pounds we received from Europe will be replaced by the ever considerate Tory party who will aid the poverty-stricken in the UK now they are at their most desperate and vulnerable.
I hope too that the individuals trapped in dead end low income employment who voted for the Tories for the first time will be rewarded. Apparently such voters wished for tighter controls on immigration, fearing what they perceive to be an ever increasing vast sea of dark faces on which our crumbling NHS depend.
Many Leave supporters admit it will be a bumpy road at first but with greater reward for all when all is said and done. It would be such a great relief if such idealistic optimism turned out to be true..I suppose that idealism is all we have left now to cling to.

JD made a valid point but you chose to not only dismiss it but insult him needlessly rendering your own little rant immature and pointless.
You too, made valuable points, but unfortunately these were lost and seemed secondary to your gleeful desire to insult and respond in a personal manner.
The only reason Guest posts are so readily dismissed is because some, like yourself, are so giddy in your pursuit to mock the person you are responding to.
The on topic points you manage to make may well hold some merit but as your post is needlessly agenda driven folk can't be bothered to consider your viewpoint.

Do give it a rest. JD made no point at all only to once again berate other people choices and to sprout nonsense about America You always say about others jumping into arguments and yet there you are as always putting yourself once again bang in the middle of someone else's point of view. I am sick to the back teeth of people like him acting like they are a superior being for how they voted. I'm also sick of you trying to direct and control this section. Do you do the same upstairs? Do you make everything there your business?
Used to be nice coming here for a read but now it has a guard dog and all we can hear is that barking orders.

Yes, I'm sure it was nice for you, because you got to bark insults at people. You're at it again. I said you had valid points worth considering, but that doesn't fit your agenda so you choose to pretend it wasn't said.
I stick up for my friends, the "forum facade "as I call it of not standing by folk when Anons churn out crap to people they get on with and everyone acting like a robot posting the socially accepted clichés doesn't sit well with me. Frankly it reminds me of highschool.
You are a Guest who likes to personally insult folk behind a proxy so no one finds out who you are... You wouldn't respect a person like yourself either.

I don't care if you think I had valid points, your opinion is nothing to me but a wall of boring noise. I didn't post here before just come read with my morning cuppa.
