When people make up stuff about you continually and you  begin to question your own perception of events you are being gaslit. And if you don't , people have attempted to gaslight you and failed. Gaslighting is a manipulative tool used by sociopaths, clinical psychopaths and malignant narcissists. It happened to a poster by a mod elsewhere recently and it's a nasty little trick.

I honestly think you would be interested in psychology JD, but a quick rule of thumb is 

Power mad posters are insecure and their own life is lacking. I'm sure you can think of a few examples.

Civil posters able to admit their mistakes have a solid home life and are content.  Inner confidence shines through,  they may not be everyone's cup of tea and won't always conform which makes them targets. But they never start confrontation, they see nothing to gain in it. Any poster able to laugh at themselves (sincerely) will likely be genuine.

Posters who like to gang up on a lone target  fall in to two groups. The more dominant conflict seeking ones  sadly enjoy hurting people for sport. The sheep type' who prop up the bullies have low self worth and are desperate to fit in. They are frienemies and will turn on those who trust them like a spinning weather vane.

So, psychopathic behaviour is fairly common, even on small forums! I decided not to mention names, but don't go by just how you are treated, if a person is nice as pie to you but unfair and callous to most others they are likely to have disordered thinking.

Psychopaths aren't knife wielding nuts although their disordered thinking does give them away slowly but surely like what is happening to Trump now. Their over confidence leads them to believe they can lie shamelessly and they will be believed but as you can see the electorate is starting to see what was evident to most before the election, the man isn't wired right. There are plenty of ppl with psychopathic attributes, in politics (one rule for them, another for the minions), celebrities  and big business. You need to be a bit unstable to make decisions of such importance and sleep well night  after night.

Oh I know all about the behaviour of such people they make up around 1 in 20 of the population (4% Sociopaths and 1% psychopaths) and it gives them a huge advantage in life, because they will manipulate, intimidate, lie and be utterly ruthless without the capacity to feel guilt or empathy.

Currently Bolonaro and Trump are the leading examples on the world stage.

 I have met one only psychopath and it was on a forum. There are  quite a few sociopaths on them too so you know,  nowt out of the ordinary there.. (!) It should be perplexing but just the way it is, possibly there is a link but posters would have to be honest about their circumstances for anyone to know it, and...that's not going to happen. 

I read the first link you posted and read Hare frequently. I am amazed people in America didn't recognise Trump immediately as not quite..right, and certainly not suitable for President!! I suppose it was a clever but transparent stunt to appeal to the bigotry in ppl who had been forced to hide their prejudices." I'm going to build a wall for the purpose of division  and the Mexicans are going to pay for the wall I want". Okay,  fella good luck with that.

If that wasn't a clue of abnormal thought processes, nothing is but it's so saddening that people loathe ppl different from themselves that much they were willing to vote for Trump to hold on to their prejudice. It's not even his fault,  Trump showed the American electorate what he was and they actively  chose a white brand of bigotry. 

I know it's not what anyone wants to hear but the American people are to blame,  not Trump. He did not deceive them about his character, in fact is Trump  even a psychopath? I'm not sure, there was no attempt at glib conformity and friendliness. I disagree , psychopathic individuals  attempt to hide their agenda at first so they can gain people's trust and Trump never attempted to conceal his character.

He is more likely a sociopath or malignant narcissist and  just a particularly stupid one. His success highlights  the failings of society rather than his own. He doesn't show the basic initial traits of psychopathy.

There is something likeable about most people. Your comment  might not have been a positive reply but it was a consistent one. Recollecting past events on forums happens frequently rehashing of old content tends to happen normally without complaint. I think it's because I have only, to my knowledge at least,  met a genuine psychopath on a forum.

As for Trump he does possess psychopathic traits but didn't need to conceal them as his agenda was something the electorate desired also. Prejudice and division. That is the stark reality of how full of hate some, not all , people are.

The more I see of this bloke the more I like him - what a contrast to the gibbering satsuma.

People need to do some critical thinking.  Trump is hated by the media and all those famous lefties.  No matter what he says it will be twisted. 

I hated Trump because I listened to those who hated him.  Now I listen to him and look into everything he says. He plays the idiot but he is very far from an idiot, He is playing the left and getting them to show you their true colors.  BLM Antifa etc  all of them are the enemy of the people and run by the deep state
