There's a new book out called the Ravine. It all hinges around the below photo.
The picture shocked even experienced and expert Holocaust historian Professor Wendy Lower when she first saw it.
She has come across very few photographs — a dozen, no more, she says — that show the moment of murder, the killers caught in the very act of genocide.
She was so appalled she set out to track down every last detail she could about this scene from 80 years ago: who, where, when.
It was SS ruling that bullets were not wasted on children. So they were thrown alive into the pit to smother.
I looked at this awful photo and my thoughts turned to all those wanting to tear down Churchill's statue because of 21st Century breast beating about Victorian racism. That photo is the face of what this country had to keep out, at any cost. And if it took someone like Churchill to do it, then for me, his statue remains.
Churchill should not be judged by the 2021 standards of hysterical and entitled SJWs, most great historical figures had flaws - they would not be human otherwise.
He was a man of his time and that utterly devastating photo shows just how low human beings can sink to and what pure evil we were fighting against.
His statue should stand.

They let the government of the day dehumanise others. I used to wonder how the F it happened, but this last year you can see how good people have been brainwashed into thinking other good people are nasty and a threat. I will never underestimate the power of those in charge again, even those who make you think of a bumbling idiot.

Nothing more than a shift in societal laws and thinking. Which goes to show just how dangerous an edge we walk even now. They committed these atrocities because they could. Just like ISIS. Just like humans do when there's nothing and no one to stop them.
