Well it was totally inevitable and at least America will not burn to the ground as all major cities were prepared for had the verdict been anything but the above.
I do still think that there is a serious question to be asked about the amount of drugs in George's system combined with his pre-existing heart condition contributing to his death but the jury have spoken.

I think how many drugs were in his system is irrelevant. He treated him so badly he precipitated his death. End of.

Fair enough Digs but I do find the media deification of Floyd a tad annoying - he certainly did not deserve to die in such a horrific manner but neither was he the angel as portrayed all over the world now.
On another note I suppose Chauvin will be in solitary confinement for the rest of his life.
As a former police officer (let alone one of such notoriety) there is no way he would survive 5 minutes in the general population without being killed.

It's all coming out now what a bully he was. You can see he's an arrogant piece of work by the way he's kneeling on Floyd's neck, with his hands in his pockets as if to say....I'm doing it, so what?
The right decision. He put pressure on his neck with his knee, hands in pockets posing like, look what i can do.
I'm glad he's going down. His time prison will be long and scary. He will be looking over his shoulder the whole time. They'll probably put him in solitary for his own good. Shame if they do.
As far as I know the white supremacists haven't kicked off yet but it's them who will protect the cop in jail.
Some serious tensions will be there.
The prosecutor was brilliant when h pointed out that not just the media but the legal system spent an awful lot of time trying to get over this guys criminal history and he kept asking why,,, what did the kind of person he was have anything to do with whether the cop murdered him or not because that's really leaning into the white supremacy stuff which would mean because the guy is a small time loser he can be executed in the street.
There was one illegal pill in the car doe that mean he can be executed?
There wasn't enough Fentanyl or methamphetamine in his blood stream to get a budgie high either but what did that too have to do with whether or not he was murdered?
The guy was cuffed and could have been sat on the pavement or in the back of a car.
hE COULDN'T SWALLOW ANYTHING HIDE ANYTHING OR ATTACK ANYONE WHEN HE WAS BRUTALLY EXECUTED.

I don't think he's being portrayed as an angel just a victim which he is. He could have had any amount of drugs on or in him, still doesn't justify his murder in that way. He's a victim and one of many.
Nothing to with Floyd but certain repulsive (black) bullet proof bigots like Lammy and Abbott have used his horrifying death as a godsend to push their racist anti-white beliefs in the UK.
I think it is disgusting.
We have always been the most tolerant society in the world (by the standards of the time compared to the rest of the world including the Empire).
The UK is not the US sorry - not putting my hair shirt on for some things that happened a century before I was born.

I really do think that Derek thought he was going to get off, being a white man and a cop.
His face when the verdicts came out was a picture. The papers are saying he is a sociopath and
I truly believe that. So glad he was found guilty, he will have a tough time in jail and plenty good
enough for him. He had time to get off George’s neck but chose not too. The other cops should get
the same treatment as Derek, as they just stood there and watched.
Let us hope it is a deterrent to other cops to stop with the heavy handiness of black people.
I so agree Twiz. Nine minutes is a long time kneeling on George's neck, and he did this with arrogance printed on his face. He had ample time to get off, and get George up, but he didnt. I think his mind was made up to kill him.
Like you, I hope the other cops are imprisoned for just standing there and doing nothing. They are his accomplices.
Yes George was a petty crim, yes he held a gun to a pregnant woman's belly a long time ago, he wasn't an angel. None of that makes it right to suffocate and kill George the way he died. It was deliberate act of look what I can do, well look at what the courts can do. I hope he suffers in prison and his two accomplices.😠
