Afghanistan - what was the point?

I don't like Biden, but I think he's doing the right thing. Fighting another country's war is futile. Look what happened with Vietnam. They've chucked trillions at Afghanistan in an effort to build up the country and get them a decent army to defend themselves and looks what's happened. Enough is enough.

War means death. You either stay and fight for your country or allow it to be taken. For the Taliban to be so many means that half the country must have joined them.

I feel for those women and kids, I really do. But what do they expect the world to do? Half the middle east is just sitting there letting it happen. Why the fuck are they all looking to the West to intervene?

I'm beginning to think the same. I still hold that one country cannot fight another's war, but I think they have withdrawn way too quickly. But then some might argue that 20 years is long enough and that they must surely have known this was coming.
