I'm anti abortion to an extent, but I think when a woman is raped, or a teenage girl, life threatening, or severe disabilities to the baby, then they should be able choose.
I hate it when they can have abortion for birth control simply because they don't use any other form, or because it's simply not convenient.

It’s none of your business what another person does with their body.
All religions are cruel, in their original forms, offering some version of a man in the sky demanding unconscionable barbarities. “What Lord? Slay my young son, Isaac, just because you say so, to prove that I’ll do anything you tell me? Why sure!”

I think it should always be a womans right to choose.
The law should set a time limit....3 months perhaps, by which time the majority of women know they are pregnant and have time to decide.
Obviouly every case after 3 months should be handled individually.
I doubt whether many women use abortion as an alternative method for birth control.
It's far to an emotional issue to be taken lightly.

Here is an article on what the six week 'heartbeat' really is.
Then again the Evangelicals never let reason get in the way of primitive superstition and rampant misogyny.
Why? Upsets your sensibilities? Botched abortions go on the rise when women are denied legal ones.
According to the Guttmacher Institute abortion rates in countries where abortion is legal are similar to those in countries where it’s illegal. In parts of the world where abortion is illegal, botched abortions still cause about 8 to 11 percent of all maternal deaths, or about 30,000 each year. The only difference today is that the old coat hanger is used less and drugs are used more. But the message of that imagery is the same.
Since the 1970s, women around the world have been able to take a common and cheap stomach-ulcer drug, misoprostol to end their pregnancies without anyone knowing. It’s even more effective when taken in combination with another drug, mifepristone. In Brazil, where abortion is also illegal, it’s estimated that 250,000 women are hospitalized from complications from abortions, and about 200 women a year die from the complications.

The point of the artist was to prove what happens when abortion laws are very tough or banned altogether - it's a grim subject and sweeping it under the carpet does no one any good.
Greg Abbott is just another psychopath with power and any look at his record on a variety of issues proves that.
He hides it behind a thin veneer of being a man of God - but such dangerous charlatans seem to be very common in the Bible Belt - in Western countries that place is unique (thank goodness).

The problem is, if a woman doesn't want to carry a baby, it should be her opinion that counts, not the courts, not anti abortionists, not the man who impregnated her.
Obviously there has to be a cut off point, but to make abortion unavailable to a woman who is carrying a child she doesn't want, irregardless of the womans age or whether that pregnancy is through rape or just carelessness, is imo, wrong.

This especially if it is a young girl who is the victim of incest - this seems to be beyond Abbott's and the Evangelicals (who don't give a shit once the baby is is born) comprehension.

Anyone who would suggest a girl who was the victim of incest, or a pregnancy through the act of rape, should not be allowed a legal abortion is obviously deranged, but NO woman should be denied a prompt, humane, abortion if she does not want to go ahead with the pregnancy.
Obviously no woman should view abortion as a form of birth control, it's up to both men and women to protect themselves.
Can you imagine the horror of having a child that was a product of the Rotherham grooming gangs. Not only are you only a child yourself, but you wouldn't know who the father was. I mean....let's think of the child here. Imagine how that kid is going to feel knowing it was a product of rape, that the father could be any of a dozen or more men, and that it was ultimately not wanted.
