Well here comes another example of mass sexual abuse in the Catholic Church - this time in France about one in thirty (minimum) of the Clergy was a practicing paedophile.

Full details of the report will emerge in a day or so.

Yahweh is a bit shit at protecting the little children in His flock from sexual predators isn't He?

It's almost as if He does not exist.

There are so many nonces in the church. Children are so easy to manipulate when they think they're men of god, pure and good. When in fact they're predators.

Poor kids, shame on the church for covering this up for centuries, even now!

It's a truly damning report. I've always considered the Catholic religion a twisted dogma with it's sexual guilt and control. I still can't understand how anyone adheres to religion in any of its forms. True spirituality is inside us, not an external man made thing.

I can't believe anyone can still believe in such an archaic concept but of course billions do.

IIRC there is a theory that it is a form of evolutionary advantage (for all it's drawbacks) in that once we became aware of our mortality the concept of a God and an afterlife were necessary for when life got really tough and sinking into despair was not an option if you wanted to survive.

Far easier for a starving serf living in grinding, back-breaking poverty in the Middle Ages (for example) to ascribe meaning to their horrible and brutal existence by hoping for a better world in the next.
