This man should be world famous, reading the article and watching the video about what he has achieved during in his life against such incredible odds brought me to tears.
My mum had a close friend who had polio. She wasn't that old either. I'd say around mid forties when we knew her. Her mother had refused to give her any vaccines, and she caught polio. What people don't realise about paralysed people is they spend most of their lives in terrible pain. I don't have much time for anti vaxxers.

Polio is one of several diseases that have been controlled and eradicated here and in many other countries because of the vaccination programme.
Maybe these anti vaxxers, or even people like Maddog, who continuously tell people on several different public forums, that people who refuse to be vaccinated should be left in peace and everyone else should mind their own business, should watch a few clips of the devastation an unvaccinated disease like polio can cause.
"Cases of polio in the UK fell dramatically when routine vaccination was introduced in the mid-1950s.
There hasn't been a case of polio caught in the UK since the mid-80s. But the infection is still found in some parts of the world, and there remains a very small risk it could be brought back to the UK.
There's no cure for polio, so it's important to make sure that you and your children are fully vaccinated against it."

I think people should be informed about the devastating effects of not getting vaccines. Then make a decision and be be left to the results of that decision.,
I'm not anti vax, I'm anti force. People make all sorts of dumb decisions regarding their health. I wish they wouldn't, but it's their life.

I have no time for them at all - Polio was so devastating but people forget now.
I remember when I was a young kid my Grandad caught Guillain-Barre syndrome (no we had never heard of it either) and before it was diagnosed his great fear was that it was Polio.
Here is another article on Paul, I wonder if the Anti-vaxxers would like scenes like this to return?

It may surprise you that agree with you, people can make as many foolhardy decisions as they like with their own lives, unfortunately something like Covid affects other people, probably far more than it affects them.
Seatbelt wearing, no smoking inside public places, other rules you don't agree with, they are made to protect the majority, so tough luck for the self entitled idiots who whinged when the laws were introduced.

People were forced to go to fight in two world wars. Lucky for us they did.

I'm not a pacifist. I just don't like forcing people to do things.
I don't think anyone was lucky about WWI.
Some fool shoots an archduke and millions of men are forced off to war to die. After it was over, nothing was really gained. A few borders moved and the stage was set for the next big war.

I disagree, and so do millions of others. Particularly on this day.

I think the best way to honor the young people who will never grow old, is to make sure you don't ask that sacrifice of them, unless its absolutely necessary for the defense of your country.
Politicians who took us to war should have been given the guns and told to settle their differences themselves, instead of organising nothing better than legalised mass murder.
Harry was correct.
