THE Votes are in and Britain's next PM will be revealed TOMORROW, with Liz Truss & Rishi Sunak vying for the coveted Tory leadership.

Both Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak will be hoping to replace Boris Johnson at 10 Downing Street on Monday, but as things stand, Liz Truss is clear ahead in the polls.

As both seem to have very different views on how to handle the recession, and how to deal with the energy crisis etc, it will affect us all who will be elected...whether we want it to or not.

I'd rather Truss than that two faced stab in the back snake. A billionaire with no clue how it feels to be skint!

True...but which  present day politicians do actually know what it feels like to be skint?

Maybe the likes of Angela Raynor do....which is probably why as soon as they get a comfortable position in politics, they begin to feather their nests very nicely.

They all do Syl.  They go into politics for that one thing I reckon.

To be fair, I didn't reckon much to Sunak either.

The new PM will be outlining her plans to tackle the cost of living and energy crisis soon.
So far she has mentioned nothing about the levelling up of the country that served Boris well in the North.
That needs to be addressed soon.

Levelling up is rhetoric for votes.   If our government wants to seriously consider levelling up the first thing they must do is to move Parliament and the whole political class and associated civil service up north.  The great clown in chief Boris Johnson when he had his puffy hands on power suggested York as a temporary move while Westminister was being refurbished.  I say move it up there permanently. We all need to consider this seriously and hopefully get a major party to support it.  It doesn't have to York but it needs to be either in the midlands or the North, though I would prefer it to be in the North.

What the powers that be should do is allow more power to local authorities....they are aware of the problems in their own part of their country, more than some chinless wonder who has probably never set foot further north than the Thames.
Funding should be dramatically increased in the North...why should one half of the country be the poor relation to the other?

They should also renew their promise (the one that got them votes at the last election) to fund the Northern Powerhouse rail...the one that Boris seemed to welch on after he was voted in.

"The Queen used a walking stick as she welcomed Liz Truss at an audience at Balmoral Castle in Scotland today, where she invited the newly-elected leader of the  Conservative Party to become prime minister.

The historic audience was the first time that the 96-year-old monarch, who has faced ongoing mobility issues, has carried out the key duty at her retreat in Aberdeenshire, rather than at Buckingham Palace. Today is also the first time Her Majesty has been pictured since she was seen arriving at the estate on July 21 for her summer holiday. Can the Queen retire or does she have to abdicate?  If she abdicates will she be turfed out onto the streets?

The new PM has set out her policies re the energy crisis in todays PMQ'S.

Expect domestic usage prices to be doubled...not the huge rises as predicted, but enough to send millions of homes into deeper poverty, and force
businesses to close.

Rises in windfall taxes for these huge energy companies who are making huge multi billion pound profits, are not on her agenda.

 Our prices have dropped dramatically..

Of course we're not reliant on lunatics for our gas and oil.

Neither are we, but what has happened in Europe has had a knock on effect on the way our prices have soared...not to mention the huge profiteering by the energy companies.

Sure you are. Maybe not lunatics completely, but you produce very little of your own gas and oil.

You don't see crazy price increases in countries that produce their own oil, and I can assure you the level of greed isn't lower there.
