Seeing someones pictures of their adventures to the great open country of America (Texas) it got me thinking that America is a huge continent with a lot of open country and in the event of a nuclear war starting in Eastern Europe then rapidly spreading that there may be quite a few people that believe large parts of America will survive. There are also other parts of the world that should survive. When I talk about survive I mean the immediate aftermath.
With regard the "nuclear winter" - that may not be as severe as some predict given that any nuclear war is likely to be limited. Furthermore nuclear weapons are only going to be targetting relevant targets - military, industrial, energy, communication and intelligence centres. American politicians including Joe Biden have already said that if Russia use a tactical nuclear missile in Ukraine then America will launch an all out attack to destroy all Russian War Ships in international waters as well as all Russian Military in Ukraine including those areas that have now become, according to Russia, part of Russia: Crimea, Luhansk, Donesk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhi.
In the event of a nuclear war - Europe and America will be firing missiles into command centres in Russia, while Russia will have to spread its capabilities to key command centres in Europe as well as America: with NATO having about 800 bases outside America plus Europe having their own bases in addition to that - there are going to be large areas of America unaffected by the immediate consequences of any exchange (even less if it is a limited exchange).
So if you have access to the great open country, know how to hunt and survive in the great outdoors - know how to live independently from the open land - then the chances of survival must be reasonable. America has that huge bunker under a mountain plus lots of satellite technology so they should be able to carry out the war for longer than the Russians. Those that can afford it will probably fly out to Pacific islands in the South with all the modcons that they are used to.
The vastness of our country (especially the west) can't really be comprehended, unless you drive through it..
If Vlad uses tactical nukes, the vast majority of the world will be fine, except for the panic it would cause. It would make covid a walk in the park..
I dont see a large scale nuclear war happening. I think the Russian military would refuse to follow those orders unless they were retaliating to us using nukes on their people..
But in any event, plenty of Americans would survive a nuclear attack and fallout. But they might be the unlucky ones..🤷♂️
