He wasn't much of a president, but he's probably one of the most decent men to have held that office. The latter may explain the former.
When he lost, he was gracious, moved back to his small farming community of Plains, Georgia and dedicated his life to serving others. He could have made millions but chose a simple life, in his simple home.
I was too young to vote for him, and wouldn't have if I could, but I can't help but contrast him to the orange idiot that lost a few years ago. Two entirely different men.
A lot of folks in power could learn something from that peanut farmer from Plains, Georgia. Jimmy will soon be gone, but he had a life well lived and his service, especially after he left politics, will live long after him.
