Enid Blyton's classic novels are beloved globally but some of her works have been rewritten to remove 'outdated' language.

And uncensored versions are being placed in 'off-limit storage spaces' in libraries to prevent the public from 'stumbling upon' the old wording.

Recently edited works are displayed publicly across Devon's libraries but tales which have not yet been amended are not so easy to access.

If a reader requests an original version of titles like The Famous Five, they will be shown a verbal trigger warning, according to The Telegraph.

The original versions are catalogued online and if a reader chooses to access one, a warning system will remind them of the language used within the older editions.

Enid Blyton, yesterday's beloved author of hundreds of children's books, todays pariah, rewritten or stuck in the back room with all the naughty books.

Who would have thought it?

I wish they would leave these classics alone. I was brought up on Noddy and Big Ears, loved them. I read them to my girls and grandchildren. I have a big noddy doll too.

That was brilliant, I loved their spoofs, they did one the other night on Children in need...Dawn French took off Claudia Winklemans 'from the Traitors'.

I was never into Enid Blyton either, a bit too upper class for me, coming as I did from working class Salford.

I preferred the comic version of posh kids, The Four Marys' for example.lol

I used to read Marvel and DC comics.   Superman and Superboy were my favourites.   I wasn't into dolls either.   Good job there was no trans crap going down otherwise they might have forced me to change sex.

It is a great distraction claiming to protect peoples feelings while starting and promoting wars, killing women and children around the world, starving people through economic sanctions to protect "western" values and interests, while destroying the economy at home with massive inflation, cost of living, homelessness, further dependency on the state, raising the pension age et cetera.
