Former President Donald Trump faces more than 30 counts related to business fraud in an indictment from a Manhattan grand jury, according to two sources familiar with the case.It marks the first time in US history that a current or former president has faced criminal charges.
I don't think this is the kind of first he was hoping for.
The circus in the US continues. I don't think there is any doubt he paid Stormy. He's slimey and guilty, but what sort of punishment will he get? A fine? That won't faze him at all and simply riles up his base.
Trump's bigger problem is in Georgia, as election fraud is a bit more serious than paying porn stars to stay quiet about a tryst..

How do you think this will play out in the election?
It does seem like the Democrats are trying to steal 24. Do you think they will drag the trial out till after the election so he can't run.
Because they just kind of guaranteed Trump 71 million votes. Though if he stays in Florida he won't be able to campaign in other states for fear of being arrested and sent to NY. Which in a way could actually work for him in that it will anger anyone wanting to vote for him in the other states. The Dems idea of jailing the opposition is a rocky path and Biden will be next to be impeached. No way will Biden be able to claim the largest ever vote again after his performance this run and the dems don't have anyone who will garner more than 15 million votes.
Maybe Trump will now back DeSantis and ask that his supporters now support him instead of not voting at all.

A lot of the democrats want Trump to run. He's easily defeatable. A sane, normal human can defeat Biden. The question is how many Republicans will figure that out during the primaries.
Trump won't endorse DeSantis. He burned that bridge a long time ago. Trump doesn't care about the Republican party. Never did. Trump cares about Trump.
Hear a jury sits in judgement but doesn't prosecute or accuse anyone.
The Crown Prosecution Service decide yes we think we can nail you and you end up before a judge.
If you plead not guilty then a jury is assembled from the general public to listen to and weigh the arguements and decide wheter you are guilty or not.

What is this grand jury and its purpose?
Grand jury determines if the case has enough merit to go to trial. It's often just a formality because there's an old saying that a good prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich.
In theory it prevents prosecutors from prosecuting people for silly stuff. It works to some degree I guess.
