"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were involved in a “near catastrophic” car chase while being followed by paparazzi in New York, the couple’s spokesperson said.
They were in the city on Tuesday with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, for an event at which the duchess received an award.
The three of them are said to have been subjected to a “relentless pursuit” involving half a dozen blacked out vehicles.
In a statement on Wednesday, a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said: “Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi."
The boy (and girl) who cried Wolf, spring to mind.
Latest report....
"New York police officials have played down the incident saying they do not believe the chase was "near catastrophic" and described a "bit of a chaotic scene".

Just to copy Diana, I don't believe it. More publicity for the "we want privacy" pair of idiot.
Just seen footage of the 'incident' on Twitter. Doesn't look much like a chase and the police 'escort' turn the corner and go the other way from the taxi. More fucking drama for publicity.

I wonder if it was as dangerous as the imaginary one they acted out on their Netflix documentary.
Have you ever been in Manhattan traffic?
You move from one set of traffic lights to the next, if traffic is lite you might get to two sets of lights before they turn red. It's just that pair of pricks lying again and looking for attention.
Even the cab driver said there was never any danger.

Never been to America, but I can imagine.
NYP dep have said... No injuries or arrests were reported, so it doesn't sound very 'catastrophic' to me.
