Imagine the average youth of today being a fighting army?

It is on the BBC website. The excuse given is that evil Putin wants to take over the world. Not everyone was so gullible when Blair said that Sadam Hussain wanted to take over the world and had weapons of mass destruction that could reach London in twenty minutes. However times have changed and the BBC is now receiving tens of millions of pounds from the government to counter "Russian Propaganda" despite the fact the UK government has banned all internet access from Britain to state Russian media. Anybody that questions UK government foreign policy regarding Ukraine is called a Putin Apologist and is cancelled. That fact that the US funded the coup of 2014 in Ukraine is not in doubt (the US freely admit to it saying that the democratic elected government was illegitimate). The fact that Ukraine is a mixed ethnicity with a large ethnically Russian population in the East and South is also not in doubt. The fact that since 1991 the US has pushed aggressively to expand NATO eastward onto the Russian border is also a matter of historical record, and has funded numerous color revolutions in and around Russia. Fuel and food price inflation has been blamed on Putin rather than the British and European ludicrous sanctions on Russia that was hoped to collapse the Putin government.

I find this scary having grandsons and granddaughters who could be made to fight. Why should they fight for this country anyway. It's rubbish.

Good job nobody had this attitude in WW1 and WW2. None of us would be here.

I'm not sacrificing my grandkids for this country who gives more to.immigrants than it's own!

In the US, more than half our fighting age boys are too fat to qualify for fighting.

I guess that could change based on necessity.

Or we could just draft their moms too and have them drive their boys to the front lines, because walking there is out of the question.

That is the narrative being driven - that Zelensky is Winston Churchill and Putin is Adolf Hitler. It is generally scorned at when Russia accuses the Ukrainian government and sections of the military as being driven by NAZI ideology. Yet Russia knows a thing or two about NAZI ideology given that Russia suffered the most as a Nation State during WWII under it and forms deep scars culturally. However in the modern day West, where woke ideology is taught in the schools and universities, that is the narrative: Zelensky = Churchill, Putin = Hitler. People should re-read Orwell's 1984. Interesting how Zelensky's past as a riske comedian (playing the piano with his penis, and breakdancing naked in a spoof video) has more or less been wiped from the internet.

I think conscription should be brought back, and that it would mean that any migrants coming here would also have to do their two years. It's my guess they'd be on the first boat back.

Great idea to train potential terrorists how to fight the government that trained them.

Just make it that they cannot come here without a job. No benefits and any crime from littering to murder results in deportation.

Of course they would. My grandkids have good jobs , except one who is .at school. Why should they be called up, or any who work, at Uni etc.Stick the lazy benefit spongers in first with immigrants.

OK, let's rephrase it. If going to war meant defending the safety of their kids and their grandchildren and future generations, would your children join up to fight?

If they are potential terrorists then they will be terrorists no matter what. You could argue that letting migrants train as electricians might enable them wire up bombs more efficiently. Or if they become medical staff they could learn how to kill people in surreptitious ways.

Mags one thing possibly the only thing they got right is making benefit scroungers a thing of the past.

Living on 70 quid a week does not attract the same kind of numbers as the old system.

Plenty of single mums I suppose are scamming it.

When you say your kids have good jobs so they shouldn't be called up where do you think the soldiers in the world wars came from?

It was armies of greengrocers taxi drivers doctors jockey's bricklayers joiners engineers and so on ... mostly all conscripted.

It's understandable being worried about your own but that applies to all the other parents and grannies too.
