Now, if Vlad had produced 5 dead Ukrainians and said they were behind it, then I'd really wonder.

ISIS is still around and they know who dropped barrel bombs on them in Syria..

I heard a few days ago reports that certain Western Embassies were advising their citizens in Russia to be careful over the next few days and they were warning that something might happen in Russia. Today from the BBC live reporting it was stated that certain Western Governments or Western Intelligence advised Putin or his representatives that something was being planned - but that Putin ignored it saying it was probably Western misinformation. I had also heard that Western Governments had been funding certain terrorists including ISIS groups when they were attempting to topple Assad of Syria and that these groups were being ferried to Ukraine to act as mercenaries.

"Russia: US, UK embassies advise citizens to avoid large gatherings in Moscow through at least March 9 due to possible security threat /update 1

The British Embassy in Moscow has reiterated the US Embassy in Moscow's March 7 security alert advising its citizens in the Russian capital to avoid large gatherings through March 9. The advisory states that the embassy is monitoring unspecified reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings, including concerts, in Moscow. Embassy personnel did not point to any specific intelligence as the basis for the alert, nor did they provide any further details concerning possible targets, timing, or types of attack."

Which is why I said there was "chatter" a few posts up.

Vlad is trying to tie this to Ukraine by suggesting the terrorists were trying to escape there..

I guess that's a possibility, but there are no shortage of Islamic fundamentalists thar want a piece of Russia.

That's the more likely scenario. Payback for Syria and other Russian operations.

Whether that is the more "likely" scenario depends on ones perspective in the absence of verified data or whether one believes in the data presented. These things will take time to work out exactly what happened. I recall reading something about an ISIS statement admitting to the deed and saying they succeeded in killing a lot of Christians. There was no reference to Russia or Syria or payback as far as I can recall. As always all things need to be assessed on their own merits. There is a war going on (or special military operation) and we all have heard what the first casualty of war is. However one can identify shoddy journalism and bias and how invested the Western Leaders are in all of this.

Well, they are the ones getting punished.

You're right in questioning the Russians too.

But I imagine it was ISIS and I imagine they have captured the correct ones, and probably a few incorrect ones too.

Rumor has it that they were stopped when three quarters on their way from Moscow to the Ukrainian border where they would have been transited through Ukraine on their way to Britain to seek asylum.
