In Germany Easter has been taken over by Ramadan.  Lights switched on here by Khan.  No recognising of Easter, no Christian films.

Sadly this will be the norm in Britain and  Europe as more and more muslims invade us.

There have been Christian services here....point is, not many people attend them anymore.
And we can blame no one but ourselves for that.

There is a Mosque near us....it's packed, cars are parked here there and everywhere whilst the men attend the services.

That's one of the differences between their religion and ours.

 Are you a regular churchgoer?

what's the problem wit Ramadan?

why don't you want religion celebrated. People of all faiths have the right to celebrate their religious festivals. There's a reason why British churches are being sold off. Don't blame the Muslims for it

Yup. I'm sure 90% of the UK is still white folks from the British Isles.

But most of them no longer are practicing Christians..

Folks from the middle east tend to be more religious.

Even here in the Bible Belt church attendance is way down. None of my millennial kids belong to a church..

There is no God nor morality in the State and in Consumerism and the State and Consumerism has taken over the functions of the Church.   Meanwhile the Church has been feminised, diversified and wokified and in so doing has lost its meaning.   However there are still some Christian Churches doing some good in the local community and many of them are Catholic.

See, this where misinformation and prejudice is dangerous.

I’m in southern Germany right now, since Thursday.  Easter is being actively celebrated in the churches.  Shops are shut.  People are dressing up in traditional costume.  Children have helium balloons with verses of the bible printed on them.

Take your small minded prejudice and shove it up your arse bored

You may be in Germany (who knows) Magica lives in London.

People are complaining that in the capital city of the UK, which is a Christian country, the religious festival of Easter has been ignored by the Mayor of London, in favour of a religious none Christian festival.

They have a point...which they are making without insulting people of a different viewpoint.

Why not try that sometime?

I don't think the majority of younger people in many societies are religious nowadays.

When I was a kid, most kids went to Sunday schools, and some  grew up to attend regular church services...also many didn't, (me included)

Our generations kids were given the choice...and I think if religion isn't forced onto you, there are far more interesting things to do when you are a youngster.

 Not in Western societies..

But there are still societies that not only are still religious, but willing to kill or die over that religion.

For the most part, Christians have moved on from that mindset..

To be fair, so have most Muslims. But too many exist that haven't..

Dont worry Syl, their argument is lost when they resort to insults.  I laugh at those idiots wink

I agree, once someone barges in with insults, the discussion is either finished or the whole thing comes to a name-calling fiasco.

Many a good thread has been spoiled by such...pity.

You had a valid point, there is also a valid counter argument, but none will be heard once the name-calling starts.

Exactly Syl, I would have been open to discussion.   Not now though, ended.

It is part of the cancel culture.  Divide and rule.   It happens at all levels.   The enquiry into the Manchester bombing revealed that guards seeing an Asian looking youth running into the arena with a large rucksack didn't investigate for fear of being accused of racism.  Same sort of thing happened with the sexual abuse of girls in council care in the north et cetera.  People like our anon get brainwashed into promoting such things.

The rulers of Empires moved groups of people around such that peoples of different cultures, religions and languages lived close together (one village this another village that) to reduce local troubles of regarding the Empires control and ability to collect taxes - taxes that went into paying for their systems of control plus overseas wars.

Ramadan started on 12 March. You can't expect Muslims to cancel Ramadan because Easter comes part way through it. I doubt Muslims have much influence over the tv schedules tbh.

There are different viewpoints and then there are bigoted viewpoints spreading racist and divisive half truths.

Alternatively, one persons observation may be different from another.
In any event, the best way to debate is to listen...then reply.

Always racist when it's against muslims, but never the other way around.  Racist is an overused word to shut us.up, it won't work!  Read about it instead of spouting off silly, old fashioned words!
