This could be so consuming that Russia will be free to occupy Ukraine much easier.

It is dangerous. And it's been a long time coming. I dread to think what might happen if this really escalates.

Iran's attack was its promised retaliation for an April 1 strike by Israel on an Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, which killed seven officers from its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. If they can precipitate what could be potentially WW3 over something like this, one can only imagine what will happen if it kicks off big time.

Iran has stated the matter is now “concluded” (of course, they could be lying).

Joe Biden has told Bibi to ”take the win”, because the US won’t support any retaliatory attacks on Iran. Good advice, in case Bibi feels the urge to be trigger happy again.

I wonder what's going on in the background right now that might burst out onto the lives of millions.
The military discussions on options right now must be very heated. Israel have shown time and again you can't attack it with impunity.
This is the first time Iran has attacked Israel head on and they were obviously well aware... of the dangers of a massive retaliation.

This is a massive escalation in middle east tensions but the bit I can't get my head around is the fact that Iran as good as warned Israel and the world it was about to launch this attack giving the Israelis good time to prepare their defences.

World tensions are ratcheting up.

As long as this doesn't go nuclear, those pesky Hebrews have the means to repel any attacks and grab a little extra land as a warning . They have done it in several wars in the past, against more adversaries than just Iran..

WWIII would require the full participation of the US, Russia or China. That's a possibility but not a likely one in the middle east.

I'm far more concerned what happens when China takes Taiwan. That will likely result in a direct conflict between American and Chinese militaries.

America being 35 trillion in debt and being preoccupied with Ukraine and Israeli "hot spots" may prod China to act sooner.

Russia extremely likely as Iran is considered a gateway into Russia.

Flatten Iran and Russia is wide open to all manner of problems.

I'd imagine not one of the plans is to do nothing.
