Nine-month-old Genevieve Meehan, who was murdered by a callous nursery nurse who apparently 'didn't take to her'.

 

I cant imagine what her family are going through right now, they will never get over the loss.

 

Others apparently noticed the way nursery worker Kate Roughley treated and spoke to the baby...why did no one speak out before she did something so horrific, which resulted in the babys death?

 

"A jury was told a baby girl was in ‘genuine fear’ as a nursery worker strapped her face down on a bean bag prior to her death.

Kate Roughley, 37, is accused of the manslaughter of nine-month-old Genevieve Meehan, who died following an incident at the former Tiny Toes Nursery in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport.

Ms Roughley, deputy manager at the nursery, is alleged to have swaddled the baby in a blanket and put her to sleep on her front onto the bean bag on May 9 2022.

She then fastened a strap across Genevieve's back before she later placed another cover over her, prosecutors allege.

Staff and paramedics carried out chest compressions on the child but sadly they were unable to revive her."

 

 

I think it's long been known that both swaddling a baby and laying them on their stomachs to sleep, is one of the main causes of cot deaths.
This woman is deputy manager of the nursery, she has worked with children for 17 years...she knew that her actions, and then leaving the baby unattended for so long, could possibly be fatal.

The reason she did this was because the baby irritated her, and this was known.

Once more people who know look the other way. Will the old #Lessons have been learned' be churned out again? There is no excuse for this babies death. Someone should have spoken out long before this woman could act so horrendously.

 Millions of kids are swaddled, it doesn't mean for some it isn't lethal, babies can quickly overheat, swaddling them, especially with blankets, gives them no chance to lower their temperatures.

No baby should be left to sleep on their stomachs either...it's dangerous... she must have known that.

 I think the whole origin of swaddle was to prevent suffocating in loose blankets.   I used to swaddle my daughter with her arms out.

 My daughters are swaddling when they are first born because babies are used to being in the womb and its comforting for them. 

 

They often sleep in weird outfits that have arms but no legs. Like a sleeping bag with arms.

 

Only an idiot swaddles a 9 month old and places them face down on a beanbag chair. 

14 years...it should be life.

Following a four-week trial at Manchester Crown Court, Roughley was unanimously found guilty of manslaughter by jurors on Monday, May 20. She denied the offence; and an alternate offence of child cruelty"

 Four days after Genevieve's death she was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter. In her initial interview, she maintained that she checked on Genevieve regularly. When presented with the contradictory CCTV, she provided no comment to every question. 

She looks just like the nasty unfeeling cow that she is.

 Nasty, evil bitch.  She will get hers in prison, and that's definitely where she's going 

She got 14 yrs, should have been longer!! 

 

I hope her time in prison is a nightmare, every second of the day. 😠
