That ghastly Nottinghill Carnival has led to 90 arrests and three people stabbed, one of whom is critical.

I used to go every year. It was great fun, literally the carnival atmosphere,everyone having a great time, the mounted police friendly and approachable, food and music were fabulous, you could walk around comfortably and safely. I used to look forward to it every year, it was a highlight. Everyone was so happy and friendly so much so I used to take my young daughter and felt totally safe walking around.

Over the years the crowds grew bigger, the thieving and violence became more commonplace, the atmosphere was palpably toxic in places etc so I stopped going. The very last time I went people were behaving like animals (locals and tourists alike) and it was scary. Haven’t been for years now and have no plans to ever visit again.

A man in a mobility scooter has been stabbed to death in London. Two men aged 28 and 21 have been arrested. Friends and family have described Jade Anthony Barnett as a thoroughly decent man with not a bad bone in his body.

Jade Anthony Barnett, 38, was attacked on Wednesday afternoon and two men have since been arrested. The Metropolitan Police said officers were called at 3.38pm on Wednesday to reports of a fight in Rushmore Road, Clapton, and found a man with a stab injury.

Leicestershire Police said the man died in hospital after being assaulted while walking his dog at Franklin Park, in Braunstone Town, Leicester, on Sunday evening.

The force said a boy and a girl, both aged 14, and another boy and two girls aged 12, were in custody.

No respect for anyone and they know if convicted, they'll serve a few years in a young offenders institution (probably better than their home) and be back out.

So far just one 14 year old boy remains in police custody, the other kids have been released.

His daughter said her dad was kicked in the neck and in the spine, resulting in his death.

It seems the 80 year old man had contacted police a couple of months ago complaining about youngsters verbally abusing him.

"Due to prior police contact with the victim, the force said it made a voluntary referral to the police watchdog, the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC)."

I don’t want to sound too much like my old nan but I miss the “good old days”. Yeah a time when money was tighter and material possessions were less for sure but where the streets were safer, teachers / doctors / police / elders were shown more respect. When the majority looked out for and protected the vulnerable. Kids appeared healthier and happier and where the law was properly meted out (and feared by the majority) when deserved.

I feel things have gone too far now for things to change for the better. There’s very little respect for anyone or anything. It’s painful watching society deteriorate at the speed it is. To read an 80yr old murdered by kids both angers and upsets me a great deal.

Whiĺst Britain's pensioners are being denied heating allowance to help with astronomical household energy bills this winter, this ridiculous government are now advising people to close all curtains and blinds this weekend.

Why? because after a bloody awful summer, the temperatures are set to rise...for 2 days.
