Naomi Biden (Joe Biden’s granddaughter) lets rip on Tapper’s book launch:

"Just read a copy of this silly book, and if anyone is curious for a review from someone who lived it first-hand: this book is political fairy smut for the permanent, professional chattering class. The ones who rarely enter the arena, but profit from the spectacle of those that do.

Put simply, it amounts to a bunch of unoriginal, uninspired lies written by irresponsible self promoting journalists out to make a quick buck. It relies on unnamed, anonymous sources pushing a self-serving false narrative that absolves them of any responsibility for our current national nightmare.

All of this at the expense of a man so completely good and honest that it is impossible for these people to ever understand the why or how of it all. There are real stories to be told and one day they will be. I suspect history will reward the truth."

Tapper’s another opportunistic money-grabbing hack, masquerading as a journalist. So if that’s the case, MD, then fair play to the Biden family for the timely payback 👏🏻👏🏻 Enough with the incessant Biden dissing, when all the while the incoherent demented orange shitgibbon in office continues to get a free pass, no matter what outrageous guff spews out of his mouth. A few hours ago the guy in charge of America’s nuclear codes was babbling at reporters about Biden’s “stage 9” cancer, ffs 🙄

Social media is a cesspit these days - everyone’s suddenly a renowned expert on prostate cancer.

I guess you won't be reading the book?

And thank goodness we have the unbiased views of Joe's granddaughter to set us straight.

No shit, Sherlock. She‘s his granddaughter, so of course she’s biased. Wouldn't your daughters/grandkids do the same?

That doesn’t mean she’s wrong, though.

Prison governor Kerri Pegg had an affair with an inmate, and because of that she has been given a nine-year jail sentence.

Seems a bit excessive to me.

The entire problem with Joe's last few years was he was protected by his family from the ugly truth he wasn't capable of leading.

Then you cite an example of his family protecting him..

I would hope my kids would protect me from myself if I got in that condition.

While operating a vehicle is different than operating a country, there are similarities.

When my mom was a couple years older than Biden,.I had to take her keys. Not just to protect her, but everyone else on the road. She insisted she was fine, but I knew better.

Biden’s family should have insisted he give up the keys to the country after his first term. Everyone close to him let him down, so I'm not interested in more bullshit from his family..

It seemed excessive to me until I read he gave her a Mercedes..This was more than a dumb fling, she had become part of his organization.

Maybe so, and that’s your prerogative 🤷🏻‍♀️ Always bearing in mind that one man’s ‘bullshit’ is another’s ‘truth’.

In an article principally criticising Tapper’s opportunistic anti-Biden hit job, Greg Olear mentions the Wilson, FDR and Reagan presidencies, for some added perspective.

As the saying goes, past is prologue. Rightly or wrongly, Joe Biden is not the only POTUS who tried to keep going against all odds.

So Biden makes 4. Are we only allowed to discuss the first 3 (for the record there were more than those 3 and Biden)..😉

Let me explain this a little better. Biden's family is why there are people ranting and raving about a President Trump.

Every time that Orange turd infuriates you, remember the Dems had a decent number of qualified candidates that would have beat him, except for Biden's family not being honest with him or the rest of the country.

When you lose, it's smart to watch the game film and see why you lost, vs raging about the team that beat you..

How certain are you about that, Dawg? And I ask as someone who can’t stand Hunter Biden. Purely based on what I’ve seen/read, I view Hunter as an anvil around his Dad’s neck. Much like trump’s coattail-clinging failsons, seeing Hunter permanently attached to his father’s ass was never a good optic.

But, in reality, who can tell what actually goes on within the dynamics of someone’s family? I take a much more generalised view: It’s the American voters who are to blame for trump 2.0.

Btw, it looks like his ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ is now on course to blow up the national debt by another big, beautiful $3trillion (adding to the $8.4trillion he notched up in his first term)

The sad thing is I don't think the majority of Americans actually care that much about the increasing national debt which is why politicians play fast and loose with increases. I think voters see things like tax costs and preserving entitlements and are OK with as long as they are not directly affected.

Looks like Trump is back to being in a similar position to Liz Truss when it comes to the bond market. It's unclear if it is still uncertainty due to tariffs, a reaction to fiscal recklessnes and continuing to raise the debt or other factors but US bonds are under severe stress at the moment, Both 10 year and 30 years bonds were above 4.5% and 5.0% respectively the last time I looked. This will mean the large amount of existing debt which is maturing before the end of June won't get refinanced at good rates lowering interest payments. It will also have downstream consequences for mortgage rates which could rise and stay above 7% for some time. Not exactly great for first time buyers and affordability.

You only have to look at how Japan's economy is imploding at the moment to know that things can get bad, stagnate and then get even worse. It can happen anywhere, including the US.

His family should have taken away his keys to the country.

There are only two options.  They were covering for him, or they are complete idiots that couldn't see what many of us saw and now all of us should know..

Remember when they told us it was just a stammer? More bullshit.

As for the debt, Trump is terrible on it, making him no different than what the opposition is..

This is why I don't get nearly as worked up as you. Because in the end, the difference will be negligible. Kamala wasn't going to do anything about the debt either..

I've resigned myself to the fact that the American people will not support anyone that will cut spending and take on the debt. They will in theory, but they will run them out of office before they can accomplish anything, assuming they could get the necessary support in congress to do anything.

You are seeing something similar with Starmer. You need to cut spending, but once a program has been in existence 45 minutes, it's sacrosanct and people wail if you try to cut it..

We need to suffer for decades before we try someone like Milei..

Speaking of the bill, Massie is about the only person left in DC with a spine.  Trump is doing everything he can to shut him up. Massie's wife died suddenly a few months ago. He's always been a rebel, but now he really doesn't care..If he loses next time, I think he's fine with that.

No doubt. It's much easier not to give people things in the first place rather than take them away once they have them.

Let's hope AI and the robots save us.

A recent sentencing review recommends the early release of sex offenders to prevent prison overcrowding in the UK.

This in itself is a controversial subject, but on the flipside is something that strikes me as more worrying, the mention of

'chemical castration'. To me this sounds barbaric and something best consigned to the history books.

"Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood is seeking to expand the chemical castration pilot for sex offenders to two more regions - a measure she hopes will be a staging post to a full, nationwide rollout.

She is also considering whether to make the measure mandatory, rather than voluntary, though no timeline for making this decision has been set."

It would be voluntary. Basically you exchange earlier release for chemically turning these predators into more docile creatures..It's not permanent like turning bulls into steers..
