 Is it horrible though?

Have you donated any of your organs to science after you die? They can have any and every bit of me that may be useful....why just burn or bury organs that could help future developments in medical science?

So enabling an animals dead body to sustain other animals seems logical to me.

A zoo in Denmark is asking pet owners to donate their pet rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and even horses to be fed to the facility’s resident carnivores. In a Facebook post, Aalborg Zoo promised that all animals would be “gently euthanized,” then used to mimic the natural food chain. ”If you have an animal that has to leave here for various reasons, feel free to donate it to us,” the zoo wrote. “The animals are gently euthanized by trained staff and are afterwards used as food. That way, nothing goes to waste—and we ensure natural behavior, nutrition and well-being of our predators.” The zoo also said it would welcome horses in need of putting down. While some slammed the initiative as “sick,” the appeal was generally well-received, with zoo deputy director Pia Nielsen explaining the practice is common in Denmark.

At first reading it sounds awful, but if the pet has to be put down anyway, it makes sense.

The Danes are practical people. Why waste a perfectly good animal. I do wonder how they put them down without chemicals that one would think could harm an animal that consumes them?

I'm fine with a bolt gun to the head, but I wonder if others would want their pet put down that way?

I would like to round up a bunch of feral cats and feed them to some zoo animals. Unfortunately, coyotes don't come into my neighborhood much to keep their numbers down..😉

The only time I have seen feral cats in on holiday in places like Spain and Greece. They are partially tame because they are fed by many holidaymakers, so they don't have to hunt around for food as much.

In your area, would it not be possible for a vet to administer some form of contraception in the areas they frequent most.

Here's a cheery fact for you..." in just seven years, two unfixed feral cats can produce up to 420,000 kittens."

Yes, there is a program called TNR (trap, neuter and rrlease). They notch the ears of the cats before they release then, so people can tell they have been fixed.

It's been about as successful as performing vasectomies on rats.

Coyotes are more effective..

Feral cats are actually very bad for the environment, especially the bird population.

Yes, cats and birds don't work well together.
Even house cats use the birds as sport. Grandsons two wear bells on their necks, they still keep bringing the dead/dying birds home as pressies.

So, are all of the spirits of the animals I ate already in a nice place, or are they stuck going where I end up?

I'm not sure in seriousness about pets (I said that like I know for sure about oeople!)

But cats and dogs ,have their own personalities like people. They can also sense and see things we can't, dogs have often diagnosed cancer in their owners who had no symptoms yet. If the idea that people have souls is taken seriously I believe it should for pets who give so much love and care for humans so deeply.

Livestock, pass. I eat chicken and fish because I need them in my diet otherwise I would be a vegetarian.

If your digestive system is working properly, all the spirits of the animals you have already eaten have long ago detached themselves from you....so no need to worry. wink

Millionaire trophy hunter gored to death by 1.3 tonne bull on African safari”

“ Asher Watkins, 52, was tracking a 1.3 tonne Cape Buffalo bull, known as the Black Death, in the 50,000-acre Bambisana concession on Sunday when it suddenly charged at him at 35mph.

It slammed into the 52-year-old after becoming increasingly agitated and killed him almost instantly.

Asher, a ranch trader from Texas, said he believed hunting was a vital part of preserving wildlife, and has his social media filled with photos of him next to dead mountain lions and wildfowl.

While in Argentina he boasted of killing thousands of doves in just three days with friends.

‘In a moment of fearlessness as he lived his life, he met the challenge head-on, leaving this world a man of courage, faith and adventure. ‘ “. https://metro.co.uk/2025/08/06/millionaire-trophy-hunter-gored-death-1-3-tonne-bull-african-safari-23845140/

A man of courage??? He was armed, hunting a defenceless animal fgs, what’s courageous about that? Whilst I have sympathy for a kid losing her father that’s where any sympathy ends. He deserved what he got.

The article pics of him gloating over his “courageous” kills sicken me. I loathe these people with a passion. Same goes for bull-fighters…and anyone else who kill animals for “sport”.

The first migrants have been detained under the UK's new "one in, one out" deportation deal with France after crossing the English Channel.

The detentions came as people arrived in Dover on Wednesday, the first day the pilot scheme came into force.

Pictures showed the migrants wearing life jackets disembarking from Border Force boats.

The Home Office said those detained on Wednesday afternoon will be held in immigration removal centres until they are returned to France.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper did not confirm how many migrants had been detained and said she was prepared to resist any legal challenges aimed at preventing their removal to France.

She said: "The transfers to immigration removal centres are under way as we speak, so we won't provide operational details at this point that criminal gangs can simply use and exploit.

"But no-one should be in any doubt: anyone who arrives from now on is eligible for immediate detention and return."

She said the first migrants could be sent back within weeks.

Cooper added: "It's the beginning of the pilot and it will build as well over time, but we're also clear that France is a safe country, so we will robustly defend against any legal challenge that people try. “  https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ce35v0zyzvlo

The lovies will be protesting I’m sure.

Meanwhile…the 25,000+ that we know of (this year alone) continue to enjoy the UK’s hospitality by robbing phones, molesting females, thieving bikes and shitting up the place in general. Any word of “return to sender” for them Starmer?
