What has happened to Sweden will most likely happen here.

Sweden has transitioned from being a model of inspiration to becoming a warning example. As gangland violence is spreading across borders, its Scandinavian neighbours experience growing fears of ending up in what is known in Denmark as the “Swedish condition.”

Deadly measles outbreak does little to counter vaccine scepticism in Texas” https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwy7eyde3xeo

“Daisy Hildebrand is the second unvaccinated girl from the community to die from measles within two months.

The US has seen more than 700 cases this year, a sharp rise on the 285 cases reported in 2024. The majority of infections - 541 as of Friday - occurred in western Texas, with 56 patients sent to the hospital. Cases in New Mexico, Oklahoma and Kansas also are linked to the outbreak. Two children, including Daisy, have died - the first recorded fatalities from measles in the US since 2015.

It's not slowing down either, public health experts say. They try to reach vaccine-hesitant residents, but struggle with those who carry on with daily life as usual and with mixed messaging from federal officials, including Kennedy who has endorsed immunisation conspiracy theories in the past.”

It was only 25 years ago that measles was considered, by WHO, to have been eliminated in the US due to vaccine programmes.

Mind you, the UK… Since 1 January 2025, there have been 213 laboratory confirmed measles cases reported in England, an increase of 62 cases since the last report on 13 March 2025 https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/measles-epidemiology-2023/confirmed-cases-of-measles-in-england-by-month-age-region-and-upper-tier-local-authority-2025#:~:text=data%20is%20available.-,Summary,(Figures%201%20and%202).

🫩 This is getting very real. And so, so sad …

That effin Bobby Kennedy - still running his ignorant anti-vax mouth, despite having ZERO training or credentials in science or medicine 🤬

I lived in Stockholm for 3 years in the 1990s and when I go back now it's unrecognisable. When I first went I had to pinch myself - everyone super friendly and smiley, no litter, crystal clear waters. Everything had a clean and healthy vibe to it. It was like being in a Black Mirror episode

Now, parts of it have become inner city shitholes like you get everywhere else. Crime, particularly sex crimes, gun, drugs and gangs, has gone through the roof.. Filth and grime everywhere. People don't feel safe any more, not just at night either - there are places you don't go to even in broad daylight.

This has all coincided with the rise of immigration. I remember those mugs at train stations all across Europe rolling at the red carpet during the migrant crisis, handing out bottles of water and flowers - 'let them all in, they are desperate' they said.

What could possibly go wrong?

I bet the very same people who don’t have to experience these people on a day to day to basis. No different to MPs who lecture Good Housekeeping to those on low incomes whilst enjoying a lifestyle where a meal of theirs is more expensive than someone’s weekly budget or judges giving out lenient sentences to violent criminals, rapists and the likes with no qualms about them being quickly released back into society.

Joe Public is of no concern to these people.

Kennedy suggested people get their measles vaccine.

I'm not sure the Mennonite community this is running through, is going to listen though..

They have a distrust of government. It's not completely unfounded either..

Yeah MD, he did. But it wasn’t an unequivocal endorsement though. He added a caveat  (of course 🙄)…

“we don’t know the risks of many of these products because they’re not safety tested.”

We really are still finding out about Covid vaccines..

Even my own doctor is indifferent about me getting flu shots or any more boosters for Covid,  even though I know folks are still getting boosters 3 or  4 at this point..

I don't know about you,  but I don't make medical decisions based on comments from the director of the HHS.

But I am happy to see one who is at least an irritant to big pharma and big agri.

Of course I don’t. Although it would surely be good to have a Secretary of Health & Human Services who doesn’t keep bear cub roadkill meat in his freezer, and with at least one or two qualifying credentials.

My point is, if even one person listens to that dingbat and buys into his anti vax BS, and that person’s unvaccinated child dies from contracting measles, then that’s one kid too many.

I don't think he creates vaccine skepticism, he's the result of it.

Vaccine skepticism has a much different source than him..

"Social media companies also enforced the narrative and, with the coordination of the Biden Administration, experts raising the lab theory were targeted, censored, and blacklisted.

It now appears that the COVID outbreak may have occurred months before the alleged wet market release — months that could have been used to contain the virus. Instead, China is accused of suppressing the news and allowing the virus to spread worldwide. Our military personnel alone went home from the Wuhan games to 25 states, potentially carrying it with them."

thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/5245895-covid-origins-cover-up/

This is what creates skepticism of the whole process..

It was obvious that it was a lab leak, it was obvious that there was a cover up from China, it was not so obvious why the Western Media, the "Deep State", the Democrats, the Medical Profession, the Medical Research Profession (including the Lancet) covered it up - at the time and for so long.

The editor of the Lancet even made a statement saying it was NOT a lab leak - even though years before academics had written to the journal and had their letter published of the risk of a possible lab leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology not 10 km from the food market: a) collection of Bat coronaviruses and b) genetically meddling with the coronaviruses to see what causes viruses to jump from one species to another species with a focus on humans, in order to investigate how the 1918 Spanish Flu could have originated and how future human pandemics could arise.

Your thinking is faulty.  He's the Health Secretary, so he's seen as an authority and people will listen to him and repeat what he says, just like you repeat what your food and exercise authorities say.

I don't have food and exercise authorities..

People repeating what RFK Jr is saying made their minds up long ago..

And for a good reason..There's plenty to be skeptical about..

And this is why people distrust government and "the science".

It wasn't that people were wrong, that's just part of the process. Its that the people who were wrong tried to silence those that wound up being right..

Apparently, you use the word expert and authority as synonyms.

An authority would have legal standing..They may or may not be an expert..

So RFK Jr is an expert, an authority or both?
