And what processed meat?

It looked like pieces of spam, and bacon.

Have you never eaten or cooked Chinese food?

Been to a few Chinese restaurants ages ago, where we ordered the banquet for two people. Delicious...no greasy broth was served.

I love the crispy duck etc, and the soup was a kind of cornflour and sweet corn spicy mix....tasty.

I eat Sushi, also have a great dish from the local Chinese chippy, and I even like Chinese style curry.

Never cooked Chinese, though I will boil rice with the odd stir fry I make (does that count?)lol

Anyway...back to teatime.

I have been eating too much lately, so for tea, I am having the simplest meal ever.
A tin of red salmon, an onion sliced in vinegar, and some bread and butter. Glass of white wine, and some chocolate and a coffee for afters.

 No egg drop soup?

And a stir fry would have the same basic meat and vegetables found in a hot pot.

And you probably don't want to see what goes on in a Chinese kitchen, if cooking meat and vegetables in a broth bothers you..

I had this for lunch yesterday (it's breakfast food in Vietnam).

Broth, meat, vegetables and noodles. A crazy combination..🙄

Every country we visit (lots) I always try local foods...enjoy most..eat

The greasy Chinese broth didn't appeal, but that's probably because it looked repulsive.

You don't even drink the broth any more than you would drink the oil out of a fish fryer..

And the only reason the broth would be greasy is because as you cook meat the fat is rendered.

Same as when you cook a roast..

Sorry Syl but I’m with Madders on this one.

Chinese hot pot is delicious and not greasy, and I miss it as you don’t get much of it here outside of the big cities.

But generally if you don’t have anything nice to say about other people‘s food choices, best to stay quiet.

Just my opinion.

You had better aim that comment to Maddog then, he has a lot to say about my food choices....read backwink

Re the Chinese hotpot...to me, in the video that was posted, it looks disgusting, that's my opinion.

The Chinese dishes I have tried, and I listed a few, I have loved.

 Not only Chinese kitchens.

I have worked in nightclubs and other places where food is served.

I have always said, if the diner knew what was happening 'backstage'...everyone would eat at home.

I’d recommend you avoid the “banquet“ options Syl as you get the stuff aimed at English people wink

If you are a bit braver in your choices like Madders (and I) then you will be rewarded - I guarantee you.

I did enjoy it, lots of different foods to try, and where we went, (it's a good while ago) is one of the most famous Chinese in Manchester, so pretty authentic from what people (with far more knowledge of Asian cuisine than me )say.

I don't have much to say about your food choices, except they are somewhat restrictive..

I give Vita some grief about the nutritional value of hers..😎

A good quibble is sometimes a laugh though Vam.

I doubt Maddog takes it to heart, I know I dont. wink
