The long red peppers, abundant right now in all the shops, are great tasting at the moment. I roast them with mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes. You can also add aubergine to make a ratatouille dish. More often than not I will fry them and add bacon and wine, and cream if I have it.

I just call it a stir fry, it's OH's favourite tea.

 Prepare for incoming...

 That sounds very tasty.

I tend not to fry anything these days, I blame George Foreman :) The only time I do is with pancakes on the GF griddle and that’s not very often.

I love doing something just like that with stew meat (beef)..Peppers, onions and root vegetables are excellent roasted.

Coriander is an excellent spice to spinkle on top of that..

I made proper Cornish pasties the other day.  Skirt of beef.  Swede.  Potato.  Loads of black pepper and a knob of butter.   God, they were good.

We go through a fair bit of skirt in pies and pasties.

My wife explained to me once how she cuts it differently for different uses but I'm afraid it was one of those in one ear out the other moments.

@ MD …. I’m curious - what’s that glass thing in your first photo?  Is it a coffee maker?

Also, can you buy Cif in Texas…? scruffy

It's a well seasoned coffee maker.

I'm sure I can. I'll ask my maid if she will start using it.

lolLMAO … seeing it kinda surprised me, cos I‘ve often noticed how clean your kitchen worktops/table/cutlery are whenever you post your foodie stuff.

But yeah, ‘well seasoned’ is one way to describe THAT I guess! wink
