None of us are young, though 'being older' is all relative....but have you personally ever suffered from ageism?

Young pretty girls called me old all the time..😎

But besides that,.I don't think I have. However, its hard to tell why people react or judge us in a certain way. Could be our age, or it could be a myriad of factors..

I actually engaged in ageism a couple of years ago. I changed insurance companies 2 years ago and had to choose a new doctor.

I purposely refused to choose one over 50 because I didn't want my doctor to retire any time soon. Not that they would necessarily, but I didn't want to take that risk..

They say life begins at blah blah blah.  No it fucking doesn't.  As the late great Bette Davis once said.   Old age ain't for sissies.

But imagine being so drop dead gorgeous you have to finally lose those looks.   Some people seem to age better than others.   then others age awfully.  Take Udo Keir for example.

Luckily, unless we are mentally stuck back in time, our emotional age changes with our physical age.

When I was 20 or 30 years of age, the younger version would have appealed, now the older one would, and I wouldn't give the younger version a second glance.

I can't understand why some people think age makes us ugly, it doesn't, it just makes us older.

The only time I have, is on forums. lol

The only time I have noticed it in real life, and it's not me, because I don't drive anymore, OH does, and I notice some younger drivers seem to disregard him because he is older....they zoom past  him at lights etc....as if he is old and slow.

He drove for a living, and is a better driver than they will ever be.wink

No but my friends who work in finance clearly are facing this problem. It's really a young man's game and once you approach 50 Management start asking politely if you might want to consider another career.

We all get old.  Nobody escapes it.  Unless you die young.

From what I've seen, I am afraid a lot of it has been on here from anons.  Commenting on pictures, weight etc like a load of schoolkids.  Not sure what ages they are but would bet 45+

Yes, ageism on forums has always been rife.

I don't count that though...anons who hide behind their insults will pick on anything to score a point, age, weight, intellect, morals, etc...they dont count.
