I've seen a clip of his shooting which autoplayed as I was scrolling on Twitter. I wish I hadn't. I think it's unlikely he survived.

Sadly things are going to get worse. Your country is extraordinarily polarised politically, economic conditions are going to get a lot tougher as the year goes on and you are led by a man who is simply incapable of unifying America.

I'm praying for you guys, and I don't even pray.

I doubt he survives that wound either.

And this no doubt turns up the heat under the kettle.

And Trump will use it to exert more power and control.

They got the shooter. Older white guy. At least he can try to explain why he did it. It cuts down on the conspiracies..

I don't think that old white guy is the shooter. I'm sorry to say I think this looks like a political execution using a sniper.

There is a lot of security at these events..

 Two girls interviewed said it was quite open and possibly there should have been more  security at the university. The local mayor says they are searching for the suspect.

He passed far too young and had young children and although I don't agree with his political views this is a tragedy. But it is yet another example of  political violence because America won't tighten up their gun laws. Sadly fatal political violence.

The President himself was nearly shot  as result of the "you can prise it out of my cold dead hands " mentality and we know Trump is an advocate is the right to bear arms. The last 18 months have sadly contained many events of gun violence in the US.

Hopefully a debate can be had going forward. But it's a terrible tragedy.

The event slogan all around the tent he was sitting in read ‘Prove Me Wrong’. And I guess someone did…

I agree with Diggs and Avon. This wasn‘t an opportunistic hit by some nutjob who got lucky with a pistol, imv.
