The Palestinian State

Aside from that, I think Palestine should be a State. I'm sure it was in times gone by, before Israel was handed it.

It will stop Israel bombing the shit out of them, to get the out of Gaza so they can have all the land for themselves!

Palestine has never been a state. Not until it was created along side Israel. It was basically just a geographic area.

The current area of Gaza was part of Egypt 60 years ago..

Yet they and Palestine stay at war..

I'd say the destruction of Israel would bring on peace, but I doubt it..

Part of the problem is the way Europeans chopped.up the middle east. The other is cultural..

Israel are “ bombing the shit out of them” because of Oct 7th. Hamas, and the support they have/had from the Palestinians themselves, has caused Israel’s actions - some of them “housed” Israeli hostages. If Hamas was similarly active on UK soil and committed a massacre and was still holding hostages would you not expect the UK to retaliate?

Egypt has the measure of the Palestinians and their Hamas, their wall is there for a reason.

There are no Palestinians. There are Arabs from a certain area that call themselves that.

I think we need to stop viewing the situation through rose tinted spectacles in the hope that this or that will solve it all. Look to history, and take it from there. This won't ever end until one of them wins or they all wind up wiped from the face of the earth.

They were given a state when the UK left in 1948..They have spent the last 80 years trying to destroy Israel instead of working on their state.

I really think the best solution is for Jordan to take the West Bank and Egypt to take Gaza. I just don't think anyone would accept that.

With all the conflict now and Israel bombing the Palestinians, I think maybe having their own state might stop this. Or is it helping Hamas? I don't agree with terrorists getting a helping hand with this. It's really hard to say, I don't know the answer.

Edited to say, they reckon it will cost us trillions now. Why us? Is it because we gave Israel the land, and if so, surely now Starmer has dropped us well in it.

For any State to survive it needs to have control of its Highlands and it coastal region. Israel before the 1967 War was clearly a non stable state geographically. It was attacked from the highlands and the coastal regions by Arab-Muslims hell bent on the destruction of the Jews and Israel. At that time Israel was technically more advanced and was able to survive the assault and push back gaining territory that it should have kept. Instead the lands Israel gained through the failed attempt by the Arab-Muslims to destroy it was called "Occupied Lands" by a UN resolution.

The claim Islam has over Jerusalem and hence Israel was an imaginary night-flight by the sixth century warlord called Mohammad to Jerusalem. This was a political device in order to persuade Jewish communities dotted throughout the Arabian Peninsula at the time to join Mohammad in his war against the ruling powers of Mecca. Later when Mohammad was in power he turned against those Jews who wanted to remain independent and slaughtered them. This was all later written in the Quran and accompanying Hadiths. Mohammad's imaginary night flight to Jerusalem was written in the Quran and since then Islam has claimed ownership of Jerusalem and its surrounding territories. As long as the Quran and Islam exists the State of Israel will always be a target. The best that can be achieved for Israel is a stalemate situation - but Israel must be able to have a chance of defending itself by having control of its highlands and coastal region.
