I think I’m starting to recognise the posting style of some Anonys

And they often post good stuff. But because it can take a while for their posts to hit the board, their good stuff can often be missed. Which is a shame really…

That's the main problem with guest posting...sometimes, by the time their posts hit the board, the thread has moved on.
There are a couple of really good Anons who have given reasons why they don't want to join...obviously their choice.

Hopefully after words last week, one won't return, and a couple are occasional trolls backing themselves up....noticeable because they have nothing of value to say about anything much,

Actually, I don't mind people posting who are not members. It's true, when we had all the riffraff and trolls inundating us I would happily have not had anons posting, we had to disallow quite a lot because they were so offensive, either to people here or people on other forums, mostly Dogs.

Now I welcome anonymous postings, we have several who contribute with sense....I doubt you are one of them though.

I don't think this post is entirely genuine as the people who choose to post hiding their identity are doing so anonymously..so I doubt many would become this outraged at being called "Anon"

However unless the person is just insulting people or stirring the pot I don't treat Anon 's any differently to members. I praised the historical accuracy and knowledge of one Anon only to be slapped down and told not to be daft, they told me they had obviously searched for the info!

But I agree with Vam, any genuine Anon's who do want to discuss the topics should consider joining.

Yeah,the fake SF is kind of obvious..

Trolling guests choose to insult members or stir up dissent , genuine guests discuss the topic. Some that disagree with me are really eloquent (or maybe it's the same one?) But possibly they think forum history will stop them being accepted. Digs is nothing like the persona known as Stooo (why do many o's, never understood that) so apart from the obvious folk, as long as people are prepared to be civil now there would be no problem.

I have never posted with a bloke called "Jason" personally but they are about. If they are posting under Anon occasionally they may consider joining, if Digs gives the thumbs up, natch.

I also think it's a shame Jack left but I'm glad he popped back to reassure us all is well.

Her input would have also been interesting on the people who have been removed from the Scottish woodland. As far as I know, she is the only Scottish member we have had here.
