A woman forced to pay a five-figure sum after subjecting a teenager to a four-year 'catfishing' campaign has been pictured for the first time.
Elha-Mai Weston targeted Sasha Davies, both 19, using her social media pictures and AI-generated content to create a string of fake online profiles.
Weston, who lives streets away from the victim in Glamorgan, Wales, deceived men across the sites Snapchat, TikTok, Facebook and Tinder using Ms Davies's photos.
The catfish started to create profiles under the name 'Sophie' and 'Sophie Kildare' when both women were 16, which accumulated more than 100,000 followers.
The accounts stayed active for four years. Despite living in the close-knit community, Ms Davies had never heard of Weston and calls her a 'complete stranger'.
The student became aware that her identity had been stolen after she spotted a TikTok account with her images in 2022.
The issue snowballed despite Ms Davies reporting it to South Wales police, turning her profiles private and reporting the accounts to the social media sites. However, her images continued to proliferate social media, linked to the name Sophie.
It reached such heights men would approach the teenager while she worked behind the counter at McDonald's or as she walked down the street. They were adamant that they had a romantic relationship with her.

Sickening that the culprit was only caught because of Sasha's legal team and not by the police...couldn't be arsed by the sounds of.

Sasha was lucky in the sense that none of the blokes who approached her on the streets were knife-yielding rapist weirdos.

Police non-action is shameful.

I know several people who have reported fake profiles of themselves. Even with hundreds of people reporting a fake profile, Facebook won't do anything.

But I got a 3 day ban once for posting "coonass".

I don't think she was horrible. She was a lonely, older woman, likely unattractive who created a fake persona to get attention from men. I don't think the porn star, who's photos she used, was impacted be her charade.

I've certainly spent most of my youth navigating unwanted male attention but with a nicer level of complimentary attention that's rather flattering. I don't get why women 'hate' it when a man pays them a healthy attention. So long as he's not creepy or out of line, I always loved it. A male friend of mine got called a pervert for opening a door for two young girls the other day. It upset him dreadfully, but he said perhaps he should have known but he's always done that for females.

As for ugly women, what constitutes ugly? Ugly is mostly inside, in my experience. You can be drop dead gorgeous but if your personality stinks, or you're an ego driven sex pest, then forget it. The problem these sad incel type men have is that they are fucking odd, weird and downright creepy. They blame women for being shallow and looks driven. It's got nothing to do with their looks. It's that not right in the head creep inside them.

I couldn’t stand NAA, but I loved the way she outed NS and her fake persona's.

She also said I reminded her of her mum, showed me a pic of this lovely woman with a gorgeous daughter....who NS was claiming to be. (Not the pornstar, the other one)

She was always friendly to me too. We were friends on Facebook and she was friendly there too. I stayed out of the stupid threads, and stuck mostly to the news, so I don't a lot of what happened with her and other posters. Heck, you don't even remember me on Dogs and I was quite the prolific poster.

Anyway, she messaged me the day her mom died (or the day after) and asked me to call her. I figured what the hell, it's only money. I can't remember if she was supposed to be fairly well off (I think she was supposed to be?), and looking back, I should have known that something was up, when she didn't ask to call me instead.

Soon as she answered I was taken aback by her voice. You can just tell when you are talking to a 50-60 year old woman. Probably one who smoked for years. I do think her mom had just died, but I think she was a fairly old woman when she passed. NS was probably pretty lonely to feel the need to talk to someone she never met and would never meet, at the time of such an emotional event.

It wasn't long after that, that NAA figured it all out with the pics. NS wooshed every spec of her forum and social media presence in minutes or hours at the most.

I don't know why she did what she did, and outside of the Orpheaus episode, she never really did anyone wrong. I hope she's doing alright. She was a sham, but there were many others on forums far more nasty than her.

She could be nasty though. When she was flattering Micky, (she wanted to join one of his forums and moderate), there was a lovely poster there called FOURKIDS... aptly named.

She would make fun of her, saying any woman who had given birth four times must be unable to satisfy a man....jibes like that are totally uncalled for.

She also PM'd me and other mods constantly, trying to get other posters banned. We saw through her; obviously, Micky, being Micky, fell for it.

In spite of all that, even knowing she was not who she said she was, I quite liked her. She was intelligent and could hold a conversation, and I sensed a vulnerability in her too.

I think she did what she did because, as you flippantly said upthread, unlike some other women, she didn't have men after her. I reckon that's true, but on forums she could be whoever she wanted to be. And one of the personas she developed was of an overtly sexy woman, guaranteed to have men online lusting after her....and it worked for a while.
