Probably some are dead, some married, divorced, lost interest, who knows?
Posters long gone. I'm sure we all have our favourites for various reasons, mine are...
BEAMGLOW...met her on the Mirror. I was new to forums and didn't get why some people were so horrible online. She PM'd me to say she saw what was happening and she had my back. She looked like Diana Rigg (from the Avengers) and was kind and lovely.
MELFI.... from the Mirror and various forums after. Married her teacher, she was witty, sensible, and good fun. I think the constant arguing got to her in the end. She made one last post describing how it made her feel....and left.
TYTONIDAE.... Probably the best liar on forums of all, she fooled me anyway. But she was engaging and quick witted....pity she was a troll.
I’m absolute crap at recalling names, although I rarely forget a face.
In my 5 or so years at Dogs, there were loads of people I used to have laughs with, and it‘d be great to see them posting here - just wish I could remember their onscreen names! 🤦🏻♀️
Since seeing Syl’s thread, I’ve been wracking my brain trying to remember the onscreen name of someone who used to make me weep with laughter. I think it was a guy, and he posted under the name of a famous brand of English pastel coloured sweets/candy (not Love Hearts). He even had an avi of these sweets.
But there are 2 who have left a lasting impression on me, and whose names I won’t forget…
SF…again, explosively funny dry/sarcy humour, but also just an all-round lovely guy.
Cleo…the total female clone of SF.
It’d be good to see Cactus Jack posting again. Not because of his scintillating personality, but because of the way Dawg used to effortlessly wind him up. CJ was like a rabid dog with lockjaw around Dawg. Seeing his obvious OCD spurring him on to try and get the better of Dawg, was hysterical (but also pitiful in a way) 😂
I’d love to see Trapper John posting again. His dry humour was always worth reading - he & Vic butting heads in the Footie thread over there, was among my favourite things to catch up on. (like Syl, I hope Vic‘s okay)

CJ was on the spectrum..
If you've ever seen the American show "Big Bang Theory, he could have been Sheldon..
I'm sorta surprised he never posted here..He definitely knew about the place.
I noticed that he posted a lot at times that suggested he might not be in the UK..I'm certain he was a Brit or Irish, but I often wonder if he was living on our east coast.
I don't think you can use a proxy here, so he couldn't pretend he was in the UK..
What makes you suspect CJ was based in the US, Dawg?
The times he posted and his obsession and knowledge of American sports and politics.
Of course, he was spectrum-y so possibly stayed up late and was just obsessed with those topics, like others can tell you all about steam locomotives from 1928..🤷
Disappeared, around about the time that Binny joined.
I don't know who Cara was, I do remember Binny well. She posted here for ages, but I think a couple of the other posters annoyed her so much, she left.
There were some hilarious posters and some horrors.
I like Tyts even though she wound everyone up.
Some of the horrors were Tropfatigue, who conjured up this bloated fop like character and peppered his posts with French in some kind of desperate effort to sound sophisticated and superior. He was behind some doxing and used NAA as his fag hag sidekick.
NAA who boasted she had hard drives full of grabs and future doxing material. She stamped around Dogs with this hard, masculine energy but sounded like a lisping idiot in real life. She nurtured a fearless, aggressive persona for years then crapped her Y fronts because she didn't want the Russians to have access to her IP.
Poor old El Guapo, the Italian Shetland Pony, who fell for Northern hook line and sinker. Said he was a solicitor/gangster and would tear Budgie apart tendon by tendon. He threw a massive tantie when I suggested Italian tanks only had a reverse gear!
Budgie was bloody hilarious. He was rude, obscene, witty, annoying, full of shit, pain in the arse, etc. But he was funny and used to make me laugh. I'll never forget him telling an outraged Xtras that he'd stared for ages at her photo but couldn't muster any tumescence! (don't mention Dave Bacon!!!)
Micky, who can forget dear old Micky the human blunderbuss! He was probably one of most inadvertent comedians on forums. He was a useless, thick, bumbling clown but somehow managed to keep Fresh Horizons bubbling with laughter mostly aimed at him.
Last but not least, the ghastly owner of Dogs..... It's only when I look back at him at his worst that I realise what a sad, lonely and embittered soul he was. Perhaps he still is, but hopefully he's moved on and out of the negative pool of shit that Dogs became. I think the healthiest thing he did for himself was close that forum.

Cara was Binny. As this anon well knows.

Vassago who lusted after MG, who tried to destroy this place when Shell was in charge. Whispergate! The visits here during that time went into the thousands. Budgie had a field day and came up with his funniest skits at that time. The doomed lovers had many obstacles, least of which was Vass's wife and three kids. He'd sit on the couch right next to her and post to MG. I might have felt sorry for him if he'd had the balls to be honest and tell the poor woman the relationship was over and he was moving on. At least she'd have been able to pick up the pieces and kick him out. Of course, he couldn't pay any maintenance in a situation like that as he didn't have bloody job, for all his The Big I Am posturings.
Diamonds. What happened to her. She kept Budgie in a festering dither when she'd get drunk and start posting filth on Dogs. He'd take the piss out of her mercilessly while begging for MOAR!
JO. He kind of withered and died when Budgie left here. Their parry's and ripostes were worthy of a duel at dawn. But it got boring as hell after the first few posts.

I vagually remember her telling us that, but I dont think I ever posted with her when she was Cara.
