Nobody on this earth looks good after a certain age. Not even the most beautiful movie stars. All you can do is try to make the best of yourself. The most vicious comments about age on forums are by those who never have the guts to post their own photo. Why the hell would anyone want to post a shit photo of themselves? I remember Saffy posting her photo and she looked great at 70 odd.

I don't agree with you about looking good and age.

If you consider looking good an unblemished unlined skin with everything pert and pretty, obviously that goes as we all get older, but to me looking good is more about the character in your face, your inner beauty, your style, the way you look after yourself and so on.

I posted a pic of Audrey Hepburn the last time we had a conversation about age....she was just as beautiful as she got older as she was when she was in her early 20's....in a different way.

I agree Sassy is lovely, and obviously, if we choose to post a pic, we are not going to pick one when we are gurning.

Seriously, in real life have you ever found your age to be a barrier to anything? I haven't.....it may bother simpletons on a forum, to real people in real life, it doesn't ever enter the equation....unless of course you are a movie star or a TV presenter, which neither of us are.

As we get older we give less of a fuck what others think that's for sure. But age is a barrier, to certain things, and it's made mainstream news that ageism is very alive and kicking particularly in the workplace. I remember some time ago, and I was only in my early fifties, I got made redundant, and the woman at the job centre admitted that age would go against me. That was when I made a decision to become self employed. With the added bonus of being able to tell myself to shut the fuck up when I got on my own nerves!

Yes I think in the workplace it can have an adverse effect....oddly enough more for women than men, but then in the workplace, women of any age are often still discriminated against, in spite of what the law says.

In real life age has never been a barrier for me, in fact, the only time it's ever brought up is when my grandsons say I'm not a normal nana.....I think they mean because I kayak and play tennis with them, plus we all have the same soh.

If you feel old you will act old, I still feel about young, (apart from now when I have done my back in)...so that helps.
