I suspect this won't be a very popular opinion but I agree that Hobbit shouldn't be constantly insulted by Dean. Hobbit is a Mod and therefore should be treated with respect as Syl is here .😊
Armed with the knowledge that HF is universally disliked he appears to be trying to bully her off the site or at the very least he is attempting to humiliate and intimidate her for his own amusement. I found him asking her "How well are you sleeping" a bit creepy but he is deeply deluded if he thinks his transparent trolling will cause folk to lose sleep.
He is a negative poster who has no interest in real debate just attempting to upset other posters for sport. I think he should be shown the door, but thats just my view.
One) Dean used to stick up for Hobbit when she first became mod and it wasn't till she started her ''You will respect me '' shit when she wasn't winning an argument as a poster so hit the ban hammer ,that Dean turned on her as it were
Two) That's the big problem with Hobbit as a Mod ,she says she's only posting as a normal member ,but when she starts losing the argument or gets insults thrown back at her ,that she threw out first she immediately pulls rank and pulls out the ban hammer ,then when the bans lifted she jumps on that poster as soon as they start posting again ,and starts her ''Bait the Ban game '' she's absolutely ruining that forum and simple Stooo is letting her so No Dean is not bullying her if anything it's her trying to Run him off the board along with a couple more she can't manipulate and control
Three) The comment Dean made about ''How you sleeping'' was not aimed at Hobbit whatsoever but was to another poster that came in all guns blazing having a go at Dean after she came back to the Forum after Months of not posting ,and who has some silly feud with her and Dean that goes back at least 12 months

In that antagonising posters for kicks in itself could be categorized as malicious. In my book there's no need for it.
People seem to post a certain way on forums that are run a certain way. If admin are being OK with someone being labelled a paedo or taken the piss out of because of their race, gender or sexual orientation, then that's what the forum will devolve into. But having said all this, you still have to tolerate a good deal of disagreement and piss taking on forums. We don't all see eye to eye on here. We argue. We bitch. We take the piss. If Dean told me he was going to rip my head off and take a shit down my neck stump, I'd just come back with a riposte or laugh. Because the whole statement is OTT and ridiculous. I'm not the sort who gets outraged at daft insults. I mean, who in their right mind believes the FFFF would actually show up and beat you to within an inch of your life or that he actually has any kind of sex, let alone with JO's mam?  Anything he might try to do to me would not really bother me that much.
If, however, he threatened my family or posted photos of my family , or defaced a photo of a dead loved one and used it as an avi, then I'd go to great trouble to report him and get him prosecuted.
I rarely attack anyone on forums unless they attack me first. But I can give as good as I get. And I've yet to see anyone ever get the better of Syl on forums.
Is there such a thing as dark humour on forums? Yes, I think so. For some though, it's blurred lines between that and malice. And if those blurred lines bother a person, then perhaps forums aren't the best place for them. Specially not CM which has inevitable historical links with certain other places.

Agreed with the certain way part. Stooos forum for example is largely for those people who like to be nasty on a regular basis or those who are just plain weird. Not everyone is like that on there, but it is a running theme.

Also as for 'truly malicious' the definite one of those posters that you have mentioned going by what you said about them, is this Purr character. With most other people it's largely just personal guess work when it comes to judging what online strangers are really like.

Umm I certainly agree with your last point Digger, I was never truly comfortable on BF and I told Edna this quite publicly at the end for all to see .I didn't "cosy up to her " However, I merely joined and was a member like yourself. ☺
